Vacation Rental Description

The "Tea House" with its living room, kitchen, unique octagonal 
dining room, cantilevered porch which overhangs the tranquil waters 
of McCurdy Pond and spacious sun deck was once part of a larger 
estate in Midcoast Maine.  A few steps away, the sleeping cottage 
(converted boat house) features a large master bedroom with its own 
in-room sink, closet and queen-sized bed, a cozy waterfront hide-
away bedroom with double bed, a front sitting area with extra double 
bed and a full bathroom with shower.  Together, these two buildings 
sit on 15 acres of peaceful natural beauty with over 1400' of 
lakefront.  This 2-building retreat sits directly on the water a few 
hundred feet from our year-round residence.  While the rental space 
shares the same general grounds with our house, renters enjoy the 
private use of the sun deck, kayak dock, diving board and all 
waterfront associated with the cottages. We have two friendly and 
curious dogs that wander the grounds and are compatible with guest 
dogs.  The lake's proximity to all the living spaces makes this the 
safest and most ideal for families with children who can swim.

McCurdy Pond has few visitors and is a rare oasis of peaceful, 
natural surroundings in the busy summer tourist area of Maine's 
beautiful mid-coast.  The occasional fisherman or canoeist is about 
all you'll ever see here.  There are no motor boats or jet skis to 
disturb the loons, ducks, geese, heron and other birds and animals 
that frequent these waters. In fact, no other summer camps or 
cottages are visible from our waterfront. If you're looking for 
freshwater swimming, this is about as good as it gets. 

We often describe this sublime spot as skinny-dip private and welcome renters 
to use the lovely sun deck and grounds as clothing-optional as they 
wish, with respect for the occasional boater.  One of the owners is a naturist, 
so we are delighted to welcome clothing-optional guests.

To encourage nudism and naturism in our area, we offer Naturist/Nudist/Clothing-Optional 
renters a 10% discount on their stay.

greenhouse sitting area of the owners main house.

This seasonal cottage is available during the months of June, July, 
August, September and sometimes October.  Bear in mind that, while 
beautiful weather is common in September and October, the lake water 
does get much cooler, so swimming is a bit "brisk" after August and 
the Tea House and Boat House can be on the "nippy" side in the 
evenings.  A small gas fireplace, and extra comforters/blankets make autumn visits 
pleasant and beautiful.

Damariscotta (5 minutes from the pond)

20-30 minute drive from many of Maine's most visited coastal 
attractions:  light-houses, beaches, fishing villages, art museum, 
hiking trails, historic sites, boat charters, lobster!! and other 
seafood, and so much more!

Less than an hour to:  Boothbay Harbour, Camden, Rockport, Rockland, 
Wiscassett, Bath and of course Freeport with its famous LL Bean 
store and other outlet shops

Vacation Rental Rates

Rates beginning 1/1/08

$225 per night with a 4-night minimum stay 
$1500 per week ($1400/week for 2 or more weeks) 
$1250 after Labor Day 
$400 deposit at registration with balance due on arrival.

10% discount for naturist/nudist/clothing-optional renters
