Vacation Rental Description

Cross the street and you are at the beach! This previous 2 bedroom 1 
bath house got a hurricane Rita makeover and the addition was 
completed in June 2006. The house turned out beautiful and now has 4 
bedrooms and two baths. You are going to love it. The location is 
ideal. Although it is technically considered a second row house and 
the rates obviously reflect that, it truly has front row views! The 
house is on a corner lot and sits catty-cornerd on the lot facing 
Galveston which you can easily see from the upper or lower deck. 
Because of the location you simply walk across the street and you 
are at the beach! This house like my other Shalom properties are 
located in the area of the beach that is wide and queit. This house 
is only 6 miles from the Galveston ferry landing. The new bedrooms 
have awesome views of the Gulf. It is fun to watch the ships cruise 
by, walk or take a ride on the beach in your car or golf cart.

Vacation Rental Amenities

It was amazing to see the transformation in this house. Thanks in 
part to hurricane Rita, this house was rebuilt from the piers up!! 
So it is like a brand new house!! We think you will love it. 
Downstairs there is a large pic-nic table, fish cleaning station, 
outside shower, and a couple of swings. You cannot beat the access 
to the beach. It is way better than a lot of beach fronts where with 
them you have to walk to the corner to get to the beach. With this 
one, you go out the door and waa laa you are there!! When you go 
upstairs, you will come to the first level with a nice deck that is 
partially covered. There is a lot of custom patio furniture for you 
to enjoy. Enter through the open concept living/dining/kitchen area 
that has five windows and a glass door for you to soak up the 
beautiful view. The house has been professionally decorated with a 
flamingo,nautical and fish/beach theme throughout and it shows! The 
two futons in the living room function also as beds for 4. The 
entertainment center houses a TV, DVD and VCR. The dining room seats 
8-10 and there is another pic-nic table on the deck. The kitchen is 
loaded with everything you need to cook anything you could desire. 
There are two coffee pots, a toaster, blender, deep fryer, crock 
pot, crab boiling pans, microwave, nice pantry and even cook books! 
There are two private bedrooms on this floor each with a queen size 
bed. There is a full size bathroom on this level. When you go 
upstairs you will find two more large bedrooms. One is rather kid 
freindly with three full size beds. The other one has two queen size 
beds. Both of these bedrooms have a private door that opens up to 
the upper deck which has more furniture just waiting to be lounged 
upon! There is another full bath upstairs to accomodate this space. 
You will find a baby pack and play in the closet if you need it. The 
views upstairs are even more grand than those down!! Those who 
rented the house last year are making reservations quickly for this 
season. Starting Labor Day 2007 Sheets will be provided. You only 
need to bring kitchen and bath towels.

Activities and Attractions

This is one of the best areas for fishing with the gulf, jetties, 
and many bays, Roll Over Pass, and piers. Those who enjoy birding 
will be delighted to find a bird sanctuary that is very close to 
the house. Crystal Beach is a quaint yet fun place to visit with 
lots to keep you entertained. There is a great grocery store and 
very good restaurants. It is one of the few places you can drive 
your car on the beach, have a small fire on the beach (away from the 
dunes) and shoot off fireworks! Of course Galveston with all it has 
to offer is just a ferry ride away.

Vacation Rental Rates

2008 Summer rates: $1800.00 per week. Check in times: Monday noon-
Sunday 4:00 p.m. or Friday noon to Thrusday 4:00 p.m. Fall rates 
beginning Labor Day 2007 through May 14, 2008: $1250 per week 
$700.00 per weekend. There is a $25.00 application fee. After Labor 
day 2007 your rate will include sheets. There is a non refundable 
reservation deposit which applies to your rent. A cleaning/damage 
deposit is also required. It is your responsibility to thoroughly 
clean the house before you leave or pay in advance for a cleaning 
fee. Your cleaning/damage deposit will be refunded after you vacate 
and the house is inspected. We rent to families only. Reservations 
are accepted from and keys are given to adults 25 years and up only. 
NO prom, spring break, graduation or college groups. Do not violate 
the maximum number of people! You will be asked to leave without a 
refund and or lose your deposit if there are more people at the 
house than 18! The house is on a septic system and it cannot 
accomodate more people!! If you are needing to accomodate a larger 
group, Shalom 3, 4, and 5 are all located on the same street. Great 
for a family reunion!
