vacation rental description

Be our guest in the private first floor apartment at Mission Manor, an enchanting Edwardian in San Francisco’s lively Mission Dolores. This luxury apartment (sleeps 1 to 3) offers both period details and modern comforts. When you enter the living room, a fruit bowl and tray of cookies awaits you. Kick off your shoes and unwind. Wrap yourself in the plush Turkish cotton spa robe. Check your email using the free Wi-Fi. Pull a good book from the library shelves. Enjoy a classical music CD or a movie from our DVD library.

Exhale. Relax. You're home.

In your bedroom, you'll have the best sleep of your life with a California King memory foam pillow top mattress, 500 thread count Egyptian cotton sheets and down or down alternative pillows. The Italian lounge sofa in the living room also makes up into a comfortable double bed, complete with memory foam mattress topper.

Enjoy breakfast and snacks at your leisure in your private kitchenette, well stocked before your arrival. Choose from a selection of fresh fruits, yogurts, juices, and cereals, along with toast, muffins, croissant, sweet butter, and jams. Brew a cup of coffee or tea. You'll also find Baby Bell Gouda, mixed nuts, and other snacks.

The kitchenette features a full size refrigerator with generous freezer and ice maker, bar sink, full size dishwasher, microwave, toaster oven, Brita pitcher, coffee maker and electric kettle. Cupboards are stocked with dishes, glassware, flatware, and utensils.

The European style split bath features a shower and sink in one room and toilet & sink in another. The bath is supplied with large cotton bath towels, hand soap, body wash, shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, and a hairdryer.

Mission Manor is ideally located in the Mission Dolores, the 'Sunbelt' of San Francisco, in between San Francisco's exciting and colorful Castro District and the friendly Noe Valley neighborhood. With a Walk Score of 95 and a Transit Score of 99, Mission Manor ranks as both Walker’s Paradise and Rider’s Paradise on walkscore.com. You are just steps away from beautiful Dolores Park, Mission Dolores Church, and many of the city’s best restaurants, bars, and nightclubs.

The Mission is also a Foodie’s Paradise! Stroll around the block to discover the fresh fruit bread pudding at Tartine Bakery. Enjoy lunch at Dolores Park Café. For dinner, dine at the famous Delfina restaurant or at Delfina’s charming pizzeria next door. Walk another block to the Valencia Corridor to experience countless fine restaurants and ethnic eateries. En route home, stop for some of the city’s best ice cream at the Bi-Rite Creamery.

All the traditional city attractions are easily accessible from Mission Manor via public transit. Within two or three blocks, you can take a street car, BART, Muni, bus or Zip Car to explore the city and visit well known San Francisco destinations: Union Square, the Ferry Building, Fishermen’s Wharf, AT&T Baseball Park, Moscone Center. Intersect with San Francisco’s historic cable car lines to head over to Nob Hill or Chinatown. Ride a bike or Segway through Golden Gate Park. Wonder at the exhibits at the Academy of Science or cross the esplanade to the DeYoung Museum, where the building itself is also a work of art. Rest for tea in the tranquility of the Japanese Tea Garden next to the museum. You don't need a car at Mission Manor; in fact we advise against it. If you do bring a car, parking garages are available nearby.

Additional Amenities include: Free Wi-Fi internet access. Flat screen HD-TV with Comcast cable, Blu-Ray DVD player, and clock radio/CD player in bedroom. Enjoy DVDs from our small movie library and CDs from our classical music library. Convenient public transportation. Onsite and offsite parking available at additional cost.

What a Gem!!

Review submitted: July 11, 2014   Date of arrival: June 27, 2014

Magnificent accommodations, wonderful hostesses, and outstanding location!! My husband and I stayed here for 10 days while visiting family in SF. Meticulously clean, Mission Manor accurately matches the photos including the detailed architecture of this 1910 SF Victorian gem. It was exactly as described from the plush bedding, (which was so comfy) linens, and courtesy tolietries to the well stocked variety of breakfast foods, snacks, fruits, and drinks. What a treat to have fresh baked pastries and chocolates for snacking! Susan and Karen, the hostesses, were most friendly and so easy to work with, both in booking and during our stay. Susan warmly welcomed us upon our arrival and was most helpful in answering questions and in offering neighborhood information. This gem is located in the wonderful Mission neighborhood... a block from Bi-rite Creamery and Grocery, Tartine Bakery, steps from Claire's Sandwich Shoppe, two blocks from Delores Park and the local Delores Park Cafe, and so many terrific local restaurants. Do give the Mission Beach Cafe a try for a scrumptuous dinner! We did not need a car at all .... a short walk to Bart, to Muni Trains, and the F Market Streetcar transported us to downtown, the Ferry Building, Coit Tower, Fisherman's Wharf, and to the trolleys! Our 10 day stay provided access to all of San Francisco... its parks, festivals, farmer's markets, but most importantly to see how the locals live and relax! We highly recommend Mission Manor and hope to be back soon! A special thanks to Karen and Susan for making us feel so welcomed!

great location and hospitality

Review submitted: July 1, 2014   Date of arrival: June 27, 2014

my wife and I stayed here for a week while visiting friends in SFO. Karen and Susan were very responsive and helpful throughout the entire booking and check-in process (including allowing us to drop off our bags early). Gloria (the housekeeper) patiently showed us how to use the cypher lock on the front door that for some reason we found tricky (probably jetlag!). The apartment is the perfect size for two people..and comes with all you might need to get your day started enjoying SFO: coffee, tea, cereals, bagels. muffins, yoghurt, fruit..and a nice surprise, fresh croissants in the middle of the week!... Walking distance from BART...and close to many great places to eat and drink in the Mission.. we would definitely stay there again on our next visit to SFO.
