When you visit our private lakefront home located on a rural dead end
road on Lake Champlain you can enjoy a quintessential Vermont lake
vacation. You can choose to enjoy a quiet time of tranquility,
privacy, and peace. If you choose to be more active, this is the
perfect place to bike, hike, canoe, kayak, swim and fish. And then
there are the rest of the Vermont to explore!
The vacation home is located directly on the shore of Lake Champlain
looking west over small islands and "Grand Isle", the largest island
in Lake Champlain Islands. The home faces west towards the summer
sunsets. The vacation home is about a 30 minute drive from
Burlington and from St Albans. It is a ten minute
drive from the "Sandbar" which is the connection of the Lake
Champlain Islands to the eastern shore of Vermont.
The home is near the end of a dead-end dirt road with little traffic.
It is located on a wooded lot on a bluff above the lake. While there
are homes on either side, they are spaced well apart and the hedges,
woods and distance make the home very private. The beach is accessed
by about 20 steps down to the lake shore which is small pebbles.
The water is clean and crystal clear

This three bedroom house has been fully renovated in late 2007
and has been freshly painted inside with warm cozy colors
and decorated with comfortable and inviting furnishings. It is full
of light and fresh air.
The home is a hillside ranch with the upper floor with the living
room, dining room,kitchen, full bathroom and two bedrooms and a hugh
screened porch along the entire side of the house facing the lake.
The lower floor has a very large family room and
a very large bedroom with private bath and laundry room.
You will likely spend most of your time on the screened porch off the
upper floor which is the full length of the house and overlooks the
lake, small islands, Grand Isle and the Adirondacks beyond.
On the upper floor:
the large living room and dining face the lake through the porch
and over the southern lawn. Between the living and dining rooms is a
wood stove style gas heaterwhich can be used to take off the chill at
the flick of a switch.
The kitchen is fully updated with full size electric stove,
refrigerator, dishwasher,microwave, toaster oven, coffee maker and
all the necessary cookware, dishes and utensils. There is a grill and
picnic table outside.
There are two private bedrooms. The master bedroom has a queen size
bed and the second bedroom has two twins. There is a full with tub
and shower.
On the lower floor:
The floor are connected by a lovely stair in middle of the house.
Half of the lower floor is a a hugh family room with three couches
(2 pull out to double beds).
There is a TV/DVD/VCR combo if you do need some electronic
entertainment but there is limited TV reception so bring or rent
DVDs.
The other half of the lower floor is a large bedroom with a double
bed and a pull out couch, a private bath with shower and a laundry
room.
There is local phone service connection and dial up interent service.
Bring a cell phone for long distance calls.
The house is perfect for one or two couples and a few children. It is
not suitable for more than six adults.

When you visit our lakefront home located on a rural dead end road on
the western shore of Lake Champlain you can enjoy a quintessential
Vermont lake vacation. You can choose to enjoy a quiet time of
tranquility, privacy, and peace. You can rock on the screened porch
or on the patio and gaze at the lake's neverending beauty, hear the
loons, and enjoy the sunset over the bay and the Adirondacks beyond.
You can wind down. Nap. Read. Do a jigsaw puzzle. Watch the sunset.
Putter around. Just sit on the beach or the lakeside patio.
If you choose to be more active, this is the perfect place to bike,
hike, canoe, kayak, and fish. You can swim in the crystal clear
water. You can fish right from the shore. The area has miles of
rolling paved and unpaved roads for biking.
Or you can just go for a long walk on the miles of quiet dirt roads.
But if you want to leave the camp but not go far away--
It's 10 minutes to the Sand Bar State Park with Vermont's longest
sand beach, where you can rent kayaks and windsurfers or the Sand
Bar Marina where you can rent a boat to explore the islands or a
small pitch and putt golf course
It's 10-15 minutes to the village of South Hero, where you can get a
burger or ice cream or visit the apple orchards for which the island
is famous and pick up an Papa Ray's Apple Pie, or shop for antiques
or visit the Snow Farm Winery with surprisingly good grape wines--go
for a tour or attend one of the many concerts held there during the
summer.
The islands are the home to the summer home of the famous Royal
Lipizzan Stallions in North Hero and you can go see them perform.
If you want to leave the Lake (and you may not) --
It is 20 miles and 30 minutes to Downtown Burlington
It's about the same to the charming town of St Albans
In 45 minutes you could visit the world renowned Shelburne Museum
and Shelburne Farms or the nearby Teddy Bear Factory.
In less than an hour you can be at the Ben and Jerry's factory or
travel 15 minutes more and be in Stowe.
In an hour you could participate in the Summer activities at
Smuggler's Notch.
Or in 90 minutes you could be in downtown Montreal.
There's lots to do if you wish to leave the camp but you may not
want to.
There is no place to launch or dock a boat except for canoes or
kayaks.

vacation rental rates

This is a weekly rental only during the summer months: June 6 to
September 26 in 2009. It is not available for rent from November to
May.
Early and late summer (June 6 to June 27 and September 5 to September
26): $1250 a week
Summer (June 6 to September 6): $1500
Weeks begin Saturday 2 pm to Saturday 10 am
Maximum Occupancy 8 persons with no more than 6 adults.
