Vacation Rental Description

If peace and quiet are what you’ve been looking for, you’ll find  
them here! Enjoy the ultimate relaxing vacation in an adorable A- 
frame cottage nestled in its own 1.44 acre redwood grove. Watch the  
stars through the large skylights as you fall asleep on a futon in  
the vaulted living room. Talk to your family and friends while  
cooking in the open kitchen with an island stove. Or gaze out at the  
green canopy of redwoods from the loft bedroom’s balcony. Knotty  
pine paneling from floor to ceiling throughout the majority of the  
home lends a warm cabin-y feeling. This charming getaway is located  
on a quiet lane in rural Fort Dick, only 20 minutes to Crescent  
City’s ocean beaches and within 5 minutes of the Wild and Scenic  
Smith River. With two bedrooms and two baths, as well as a futon  
that converts to a double bed in the living room, it will sleep a  
maximum of six people.

Vacation Rental Amenities

Conveniences that you’ll enjoy include cable TV with DVD player,  
laundry facilities, and full kitchen with refrigerator, range/oven,  
microwave, and dishwasher. Downstairs bathroom offers large step-in  
shower. Upstairs bathroom features romantic clawfoot tub.

Activities and Attractions

This vacation home is located in Fort Dick, about 8 miles north of  
Crescent City and its ocean beaches, where it's not uncommon to find  
your footprints are the only ones in the sand. Surfing, kayaking and  
body boarding at Crescent City's South Beach are popular activities.  
Hiking in the myriad of county, state and federal parks is another.  
The Wild and Scenic Smith River, the only undammed major river in  
California, is a favorite spot for fishing and river rafting. It is  
only minutes away from the house. The mighty Klamath River is about  
1/2 hour to the south. Stout Grove, part of Jedediah Smith State  
Park, features 10 miles' drive through forests of old growth  
redwoods. And only 10 minutes away you'll find the Lake Earl  
Wildlife Refuge, with its brackish water ecosystem, which is an  
important flyway for more than 300 species of birds.

March through October: $165/night (2 night minimum) 
                       $990/week (7th night free) 
                       $1850/month 
 
November through February:  $150/night (2 night minimum) 
                            $900/week (7th night free) 
                            $1600/month 
 
+ 8% county motel tax 
$150 non-refundable reservation fee (applies towards rent) 
$300 security deposit, refundable if left the way you found it. 
$90 cleaning fee, non-refundable unless reservation is cancelled.
