Discretion is assured. Facilities and amenities—Chandler Ranch Estate Chandler Ranch Estate is located in a quiet, rural neighborhood in the hillsides of Atascadero, California, the half-way point between San Francisco to the North, and Los Angeles to the South. Built in a ranch-style, all-wood with stone floors, multi-level layout, private lodge has five bedrooms, three full-baths, and ten rooms overall. This is in addition to 2.5 acres of oak wooded hillsides, gardens, parking, out-buildings, gazebos and rest-areas, a tennis-court and more. Square-footage for the main home is 3,200 square-feet or more. The upper-level includes two private-entry bedrooms and a secret room of about 750 square-feet with access to a private bath on the first and second floors. There are outer decks with room-entry, such as for a breakfast-hour treat overlooking the shady oaks. There is also a second-floor hot-tub, and a special ‘secret-room’ the kids (and adults) will love, with skylights and a spiral staircase to the ground-floor. All bedrooms are fully-appointed with private-key entry. The extra rooms also includes a microwave, small refrigerator. Grocery service can be arranged prior to arrival. Downstairs, the large dining-room can easily seat six-to-ten guests for dinners or parties, and can be transformed for other uses, such as executive meetings, etc. The dining area has lovely bay-windows looking out over the grounds, period furniture, with antique oak chairs available, or folding chairs for more people. In the great room, the wood-burning fireplace is perfect for hot apple-cider or popcorn on cold evenings, and games like checkers, chess, cards, etc. Cable-TV, DVD, music on CD, etc., are enjoyed around a spacious glass table perfect for dining or playing on while guests may find themselves viewing the entire series of the classic T. V.-series which is a unique collection of the ‘The Untouchables’, with Robert Stack as the invincible Treasury Agent, Elliot Ness. During the daytime, the large leather arm chair and sofa are comfortable niches for reading or napping. The modern, full-service kitchen includes a wine-fridge, side-by-side refrigerator-freezer, two traditional ovens, two microwave ovens, one also a convection oven, and everything needed for splendid meals where four can be seated at the picture window and two can be seated bar style around the cooking island to taste the treats being created while sipping wine. Regular kitchen-privileges, or events can include a hired gourmet-chef, or be catered. There is also a wine-room office-suite with business equipment for busy executives who need to stay in touch with their offices elsewhere, the large master bedroom, and the fully-equipped bathroom with shower and tub. On-site Mercedez SL’s are available to rent for going “topless” as well as other vehicles at local car rental agencies. Grounds have parking spots for 12 vehicles. Larger parties are valet parked up to 25 cars. Even larger gatherings can be accommodated with special arrangements. You arrive from the public paved road that winds through the hills in this part of rural Atascadero, into the gated, private complex which reveals the large and gracious lodge that is Chandler Ranch Estate. The security system provides seclusion. Main buildings are set-back with no public views from the street. Never worry about seeing or running into your neighbor. A seasonal creek, hills, local wildlife and vegetation are all around you. Frequent animal guests are such friendly creatures as turkeys, rabbits, possums and deer, which are a pleasure to spot. The photo buff will enjoy unique opportunities in nature. The facility is close-by to a delightful lavender farm, and the Chandler Ranch Estate’s own small garden includes peppers, strawberries, corn, squash, and herbs like mint and basil. If you have allergies to pets, no worries as there are no pets in residence at this time. If you have a pet to bring along inquire about pet privileges and boarding. The entire ranch is decorated and appointed with a Prohibition-Era, 1920’s theme. The award-winning original staff-car used by Treasury Agent gang-buster Elliot Ness (bullet-holes and all) is parked on the grounds for viewing or photographs, and is available for use, such as for events or parades. This original-condition, four-door, 1921 Wiley’s Knight classic has wooden-spoked wheels, the original functional 4-cylinder sleeve valve engine, and is great as a film-prop, or for TV-spots, etc. Guests can also enjoy a rare collection of Elliot Ness souvenirs, such as original TV-episode scripts, comic books, pins, games and Ness’ original FBI identification. You’ll also find similar items about legendary gangsters such as Al Capone, Bugsy Malone, Pretty Boy Floyd, and others. In keeping with the ‘Speak-Easy’ motif, guests can partake of their own level of alcohol-consumption using a set of rare, ‘bottom’s-up’ drinking-glasses (used in the period by drinkers to conceal contraband from the coppers). For theme-parties, photographs or events, the ranch also has a selection of 1920’s costumes available. The ranch also maintains three or four working moonshine ‘stills’ (for museum pieces), and make their own ‘experimental’ wine Testimonials What a perfect place for a long weekend getaway for eight girlfriends. We felt so comfortable as well as totally pampered in this beautiful home. We loved the huge kitchen and great ambiance of the 1920’s. Every room is lovely and so nicely decorated. Yard and spa are private and spacious.. Not a thing we would change. Our hosts were so helpful in recommendations for what to do and where to go in the area. Katherine, Phoenix, AZ It is our pleasure to offer a glowing recommendation of the Chandler Ranch Estate in Atascadero, CA. Perched on top of a hill overlooking a stream and rolling greenery, the house also has nice views of oaks scattered around on other hills surrounding the house. The house is tastefully and beautifully decorated (during our stay the house was adorned with X-mas decorations), and themed for the Roaring 20's and has four comfortable bedrooms. The spa, great room, observatory and fire pit offer all kinds of in and out-house entertainment. The proximity to Town Square and Farmer's Market 5 min drive away as well as Atascadero Lake and Park 1 mile away, and wine country vineyards (20 min. drive away), provides entertainment off sight from the house as well. I highly recommend this for a large family, groups of friends, meetings or any gathering for any occasion. The ultimate statement of how much we enjoyed ourselves that we have already reserved the place for the upcoming family reunion in the summer of 2008. Kind Regards, Mike and Beverly, Bakersfield, CA We were nervous booking something that we had never seen but much to our delight the house and surroundings far surpassed anything that we anticipated. The hosts who like to wear costumes from the 1920's were wonderful & the house is absolutely amazing. Our vacation was superb thanks to the excellent accommodations. The ride in Eliot Ness’s staff car was a trill as everyone looked as we drove by. We will be back. Ken and Alison, Ontario, Canada We truly enjoyed our stay in your wonderful vacation lodge. We especially want to thank you for your quick response to our questions and concerns. We took full advantage of the hot tub, sauna and the decks sunning ourselves (wink) and outdoor fire pit in the evenings, as well as the nicely stocked kitchen. You are wonderful hosts! Thanks!!
