Vacation Rental Description

Pleasantree Cottage is part of a private estate on Pleasant Pond in  
Litchfield, Maine. The cottage is on the western shore and enjoy's  
the afternoon breeze to cool and refresh you. The cottage is cozy and  
comfortable. There is a queen size bed in the bedroom with a large  
bureau, large amoire, small chest of drawers and a lamp table. 
The bathroom is a 3/4 with shower, heat lamp/light, sink and toilet. 
 
The kitchen/livingroom is open concept. There is a new 18c.f.  
refrigerator, a small apt. size stove, microwave, toaster oven,  
coffee maker,pots, pans, dishes, flatwear, glasses, kitchen table and  
chairs. 
 
The livingroom has a comfortable recliner, a sofa that opens to a  
queen size bed, rocking chair, color T.V., VCR and Direct TV.  There  
isn't a phone but most people bring their cell phones. 
 
Attatched to the cottage is a screened patio, outside is picnic table  
and chairs, a charcoal barbecue and a fire pit for evening fires if  
weather permits. 
 
Pleasant Pond is aprox 3 1/2 miles long and connected to Upper  
Pleasant Pond aprox. 2 1/2 miles long, also on the other end of the  
pond is Cobbosseecontee Stream where you have 18 miles of some of the  
best Largemouth Bass fishing in the State of Maine.  Besides Bass  
there are pickerel, Black Crappie, White Perch, Yellow Perch and  
Pumpkinseed Sunfish. 
 
 
The dock is large a U shaped. If you have a boat you are welcomed to  
bring it. There are 2 public boat ramps close by. 
 
With the cottage rental we provide a canoe, paddle boat and a 12 foot  
rowboat. A 6h.p. motor is available at an extra charge of $20.00 a  
day rental. 
 
There is a small protected shared beach in a cove, perfect for  
children to safely swim and splash and explore. For the adults there  
is a swim ladder on one side of the dock and a Bass seat on the  
other, a great place to sit and enjoy the pond and fish. 
 
If You enjoy wild life you will see our nesting Bald Eagles and watch  
the youngsters grow (we watch from a distance so not to upset the  
parents, with binoculars) Also watching the full grown Bald Eagles  
flying and diving for fish is thrilling, also there are loons, just  
listening to them calling each other every night is wonderful and  
restful, a great way to fall asleep, plus the Ospreys,  all the  
ducks, deer, birds  
etc.that are here. 
 
We rent by the week or if available, longer stays can be arranged. We  
have regular renters who try to come every year. 
 
We are just south of Augusta, 30 min.from Freeport and L.L. Bean,  
about 2 hours from Boston, Mass and about 40 min. from the Portland  
airport. 
 
There is local shopping nearby so you will find everything you might  
need. We are centrally located so planning day-trips are easy and  
we're happy to help in any way.

Vacation Rental Rates

Our weekly rate is $650.00 per weekplus 7% lodging tax. Our week runs  
from Saturday to Saturday. Check in time is 1p.m. and check out is at  
11a.m.  
To hold your week we require a deposit of half the rental rate. The  
rest will be required 30 days before your arrival. 
 
We require a signed rental agreement and when you arrive a security  
deposit of $200.00 this is refundable if the cottage is left clean  
and in order and nothing is missing or broken. 
 
We welcome friendly, housebroken pets with a pet fee of $35.00 per  
pet, per week. Please clean up after your pets and be aware that  
Maine has a leash law.  When outside please keep on leash or you can  
tie a dog run to one of the trees.
