Cairde Cottage - "Cairde" means friend! in Smith Mountain Lake

Cairde Cottage (pronounced Car-djuh), Gaelic for “Friends Cottage”,
extends a warm, friendly welcome for a pleasant stay at Smith
Mountain Lake! This beautiful contemporary brick ranch is
conveniently located near the State Park in the Waterways Community
on a private waterfront lot in a quiet cove, complete with dock and
party deck. A wonderful location, where in addition to water fun,
you can take leisurely walks or tour the neighborhood on your bikes.
The Waterways Community pool, tennis courts, basketball court, beach
with roped swimming area and boat trailer storage area are available
for your use. The lot is nearly level, making those trips between
dock and refrigerator a little shorter!

The upper level great room features vaulted ceilings, contemporary
furnishings and great views on a secluded cove. A large master suite
with a lakeside view offers a bath with ceramic tile and a garden
tub to relax in! Each of the two remaining bedrooms also has a
ceramic tiled bath. The dining area comfortably seats eight, along
with 3 barstools at the kitchen bar (not shown in this picture).
The pub table for 2 off the kitchen is perfect spot for morning
coffee with a lake view. The kitchen is furnished complete with a
halogen stove, microwave, dishwasher and refrigerator/freezer. The
great room also features a TV and DVD. On the upper level, sliding
doors open onto a nice partially shaded deck, where you can relax
while watching the children play in the yard. Lawn chairs and
tables are provided on the deck, as well as a picnic table with 4
chairs.

In the still-above-ground lower level you'll find a huge inviting
family room. This space provides you with an additional
TV/DVD/PlayStation 2 (bring your own games), more great views of the
lake, a VCR and a foosball table for your entertainment. This level
also has a wet bar and wine fridge for your convenience. From this
level walk out to the patio and wander on down to the lake, sun
bathe on the party deck, or have some fun swimming and fishing in
this quiet cove.

And when you're ready to branch out, Smith Mountain Lake State Park
is only a few miles away, as is Saunders Marina. At Saunders you
can rent jet skis or boats for an hour, a day or all week.

Walk or bike throughout the Waterways community, or take a short
drive to the State Park to enjoy the large sandy beach, canoe
rentals, and trails. The Waterways Community pool, tennis courts,
basketball court, beach with roped swimming area and boat trailer
storage area are available for your use. Passes and keys are in the
home for your convenience. There is room for docking one boat. The
lot for Cairde Cottage also contains a small stream - fun for kids
to watch for frogs, crayfish and other creatures.
Nearby you'll find Saunder's Marina, where you can rent boats or
jetskis for a few hours, a day, or even all week!
Swimming, boating, fishing, relaxing are the primary activities at
Smith Mountain Lake. In the house, there are 2 TV's connected to
DISH satellite, a DVD and VCR player, a PS2 and a foosball table.
Need something else to do? Try some of the local wineries, visit
Emerson Creek Pottery, take a trip to Peaks of Otter, go horseback
riding, visit Jefferson's Poplar Forest, or take in the action at
Hales Ford Bridge.
