I should have guessed from the start with initial dealings with this owner that my family would have problems. The owner is very difficult to communicate with. The contract stated check-out 10am and check-in 11am. My family arrived at 11am and found the house to be filthy. I called the owner and was told check the contract and the cleaners did not arrive until 3.30pm. Even after the cleaners left there were signs of the previous tenants everywhere. No blankets were supplied and the mattress covers were soiled. Mould in the showers. The fourth bedroom only had a fold out settee bed with a very thin mattress. The DVD didn't work and there was no video library. In the kitchen there were no cups but a large amount of stuff for small children. The garage door could only be opened from the inside because the owner didn't know the code. At check-in time at the clubhouse, we were initially refused entry because the owner had a financial disagreement with the management. We paid the fee per person (inc. children) and were given one fob for entry to the clubhouse and outdoor pool, which only worked from our second day. Only one fob and only one front door key were issued.
The clubhouse was very good with two good sized pools and the staff very helpful. However, the description is not quite correct. The shuttle bus to the beach only runs on Saturday and Sunday, which means you need a car to get to the beach and pay for parking, which is quite expensive. The pictures on this website do not reflect accurately this house. The house is the second one in from the end of a row of six, which face the west and an ecological area.
This house is ideal for a family with young children and a pet. Regarding our dealings with the owner. Once he had received the deposit he became very difficult to communicate with. He didn't send a copy of the signed contract back to me or respond to my questions about sizes of beds so we could bring the correct linen.
