         * Welcome to SummerWind  at Alligator Point! Our mild weather  is  perfect right now for hiking,bike riding and strolling for seashells along the beach. We have one of the lowest, most affordable  rates on Alligator Point!   Do you prefer a  natural surrounding without the traffic and crowds ? Come on down to our 8 miles of white -powder sand. Locals call this area  the "undiscovered "  Florida . 

         * SummerWind  is located bayfront on the pristine "Alligator Harbor Aquatic Preserve " and across the street from the 5000 acre "Bald Point State Park." We are a 40 minute drive  from the Tallahassee Airport and Florida State University. This vacation home has two bedrooms .The large master bedroom has a queen bed and the second bedroom has  a twin over full bunkbed . The enclosed sunporch has an additional trundle bed which can be converted to a king bed. This sunroom may be closed off entirely by privacy curtains allowing for a third additional bedroom . The scenic view of the harbor from the sunroom makes it a  perfect spot to read ,relax and enjoy sea birds catching fish from your cozy perch. 

         *SummerWind is  on Alligator Drive where the  beach  is 1/2 mile down this same road.  You can bike it or take the car and be back home in  minutes to a refreshing shower and a cool drink before dinner- minus the noise of jet skis and motor boats!

          *Our private and peaceful back yard dock has panoramic views of the bay. Watch for Mullet fish jumping straight out of the water and Pelicans ,Blue Herons and Snowy Egrit soaring overhead. 

           * Past guests have remarked that the double hammock on our huge screen porch is their favorite way to unwind in the sea breeze.

          *This beautifully furnished home with it's open floor plan has everything you need for the perfect retreat for couples, families and "snow birds" looking for an uncrowded getaway.  Visit our nearby towns of Sopchoppy and Panacea for a delicious local seafood dinner.  Alligator Point Yacht Basin is a full service marina located at the end of Alligator Drive. Bring your boat and launch it from there or you can use two  other launch sights even closer to the property. We  have a huge homemade guidebook at the house filled with helpful ideas and  coastal activies, local maps, golf courses, fishing info, restaurant menus and local churches as well as unique antique shopping locations. This guide is to provide our guests with many options to suit individual tastes. Our guest book is filled with lovely comments  from  visitors from all over the world. Each hand written entry is unique and special.

            *SummerWind's location lends to spectacular  views of Alligator Harbor from most everywhere in the home. The living room, kitchen and dining area included. The sunsets are gorgeous year round

         *  SummerWind's   owners are  dog lovers and small dogs  are welcome at no extra charge. Cleaning services at departure are also included in the rate provided there is no damage  to the property and / or grounds. 

         * SummerWind is one of the most affordable  homes on Alligator Point  and the Big Bend area of Florida, allowing families on a tight budget an opportunity to have a beach vacation.

     * DIRECTIONS: Take 319 South from Crawfordville through Medart to Coastal Highway 98 and bear right towards Alligator Point. Continue through Panacea . Cross over the the Ocklocknee Bay Bridge into Franklin County and  make the next left on Alligator Drive .We are  2 miles down on the right . Look for our SummerWind -Harbor Point Vacation Rental sign out front.

* Children of all ages will enjoy being Junior Marine Biologists when
they visit the "Gulf Specimen Marine Lab" in Panacea and explore interactive touch tanks filled with local aquatic animals .

* Wakulla Springs State Park is a favorite of the locals where you'll see Manatee and abundant nature from the scenic boat tours. Spend the rest of the day swimming in the cool ,clear spring water ,take a picnic lunch or grab a snack at the cafe or the full service restaurant
