board
games, card games, and puzzles are included); the other sitting area has a 24” flat screen TV with
DVD and VCR
player, as well as a 5-CD/MP3/cassette/FM stereo to listen to your favorite music or you may prefer

Things to do: obviously beach combing is a must, but bike and kayak rentals are nearby to tour the
sound. If
you’re into shopping, we have it all! Enjoy Main Street Old Saybrook, or tour the outlets in
Westbrook and
Clinton a few minutes away, or travel 10 minutes into the sailing village of Essex. Challenging
public golf
courses are nearby, most within a 30 minute drive. Old Saybrook offers Fenwick Golf Course located
on the
point off of Long-Island Sound where the late Kathryn Hepburn resided. Other things close by
include the
Essex Steam Train and River Boat cruise where you can tour the Connecticut River. If you prefer
romance, there
is the Essex Dinner Train that will take you a step back in time with forties style fine dining and
music. This area
offers restaurants at its best, and we provide a list of many including directions. For those
looking for night life
close by, there is entertainment on the water in several nearby locations such as the Saybrook Point
Inn, Waters Edge Resort, and the famous Griswold Inn restaurant and lounge now offers a wine bar
too. There
are multiple art galleries and antique shops in the area, as well as local health clubs and spas.
Foxwoods and
Mohegan Sun Casinos are within 25 minutes.
Winter months offer something special too. Cozy up to the fireplace and enjoy your favorite
cocktail or hot
chocolate. Take a walk along the beach while the snow falls lightly on the water. The restaurants
are open
year round here too, as are all of the summer attractions that have made Old Saybrook a favorite
vacation
destination for generations.
