Cougar Ranch lodge in Missoula

Luxury in the wilderness: Rent a spacious, custom home with more
windows than walls in a small valley 18 miles north of Missoula and
shadowed by the Mission Mountains. Sometimes compared to the Tetons,
the Mission Mountain peaks tower above the meadows and forest of
Cougar Ranch, which covers 160 acres. The ranch is on the Flathead
Indian Reservation and many cultural activities sponsored by the
Salish and Kootenai tribes take place in the nearby towns of Arlee
and Pablo. There is a large hot tub on the deck of the lodge. Enjoy a
night sky without light pollution, just stars. The elevation is about
4600 feet, somewhat higher than Missoula. The ranch is on Musket
Lane, off Highway 93 north, the main axis between Glacier Park,
Flathead Lake and Yellowstone Park.

This ultra confortable home offers an antique pool table, huge
living room with fireplace, two bars, large deck with hot tub always
available. Guests may hike from the ranch into the mountains of the
Rattlesnake wilderness. Wide choice of outdoor activities nearby:
hiking, fishing, canoeing/kayaking, skiing -- downhill and
crosscountry -- snowmobiling and snowshoeing. The lodge may be rented
for weddings, fammily gatherings, parties, retreats and business
meetings.

From Cougar Ranch you are able to drive to Missoula in 20 minutes.
Many cultural activities are offered year-round. The Missoula
Children Theater is a special feature. Outdoor recreational
activities such as horse riding or rafting, or fishing maybe
organized for guests when they make a reservation. In the winter you
may sample several ski areas, each with different features, from
Snowball's famed challenges featured in Ski Magazine, to Lost Trail
(powder special), Blacktail Butte, Discovery or Lookout. Well groomed
crosscountry trails are available at Chief Joseph and Lolo Pass.

The ski season is about to start. Five ski areas are within driving
distance. Guests may rent the whole lodge (6 bedrooms, 5 baths), full
kitchen, for $800 to 1150$ a week depending on the season. The owner
also offers B&B hospitality to people looking for room and bath. A
suite with private bath and california king bed rents for 110$ to 130
$ a night, which includes a full gourmet breakfast. Bedroom suites
offer gorgeous mountain views, private deck access. You are in a
secluded valley, but only 20 minutes from Missoula, home
of the University of Montana, and 10 minutes from the Missoula
