The Queen Victorian in Deal Island

Attention fisherman and duck hunters: Deal Island is considered
the Prime spot for Fall fishing. Not to mention The Duck hunters are
in the area, the season has begun. "Heaven and Earth never agreed

house of fun, friends, a place to unwind, relax, and eat lots of
seafood caught in the very waters surrounding The Queen. The queen
Victorian was built in the early 1900's and has much style and
charm. Looking for a unique place to hangout and enjoy all of what
Somerset County has to offer, you have found it. Located on
the "Mainland" of Deal Island steps before you actually cross the
bridge to the island. The Queen has an inviting front porch with a
sitting area and a swing. Spend the afternoon & evenings drinking
Starbucks coffee (provided w/ your stay) swinging on the swing and
enjoying special time w/ family and friends.


Bring your boat/trailer and
dock it at the public boat ramp just over the bridge and to the
right. Bring a kayak for an added adventure. Another activity to
enjoy is walking along the beautiful beach also just over the
bridge. You can fish there off the beach or lay out and catch some
rays, or collect beach items, shells, and unique glass, even
arrowheads have been found along the shoreline.

Bring along your bicycles and enjoy a tour of the scenic area from
a unique perspective.Travel at your own pace while enjoying wooded
landscape, picturesque waters and peaceful country settings.

If you are interested in crabs, they are caught locally from area
waterman. Bushels or half bushels can be ordered ahead of time, and
for additional cost just let us know if you would like to order
them. The fishing along the Tangier is well known and very
popular. A number of Charter fishing boats runs out of Wenona
Harbor. We can make reservations for you.

Nearby Deal Island Wildlife Refuge, known for its stunning array of
waterfowl and migratory birds it is a must see. You can bird watch
for some of the areas finest blue heron , Canada Geese ducks, gulls
and more.

Deal Island is known for its famous Labor Day skipjack Races and
Land Festival, not to mention the same weekend mostly every house
around the Island has a yard sale. Make sure you book your
reservation now for Labor Day. People come from far and wide to
experience this exclusive event. Also some historic sites on the
island include "The Parson of the Islands", Joshua Thomas conducted
much of his ministry from the site of his chapel (located on your
left) behind St John's ME Church. The chapel has been the site
since 1828 of camp meetings when people would arrive by boat from
Smith Island to gain inspiration from the Rev. Also each church you
pass will have its own cemetery w/ concrete slabs covering the
graves. Because of the high water table on the island graves cannot
be dug to the standard depth. Interesting, I think so.If you drive
to the end of the island, there you will find a whole other Harbor
w/ historic skipjacks still in operation.

And at the end of the day Mother nature displays her creativity
when you can watch the stars. The entire sky becomes lit up with a
spectacular show. Get ready for a peaceful nights sleep. The only
sound you"ll hear is the crickets.This home offers guests a
combination of comfort and nostalgia thats getting harder to come by.

First floor has a third bedroom and seperate couch queen sleeper.
The Queen is equipped w/ cable TV.

Also a study/ play area or den for reading and taking it easy.
Kitchen appliances all new. Fridge, dishwasher, microwave, & gas
stove, coffee pot and grinder for fresh coffee beans. Also charcoal
grill on back deck.

Bathroom has seperate jacuzzi tub and seperate shower stall.
Laundryroom: washer and dryer both new

Large air conditioner for first floor, cools entire down stairs,
window units for second floor in each room.
Beds have matress covers and we provide blankets, also pillows.
You will need to bring sheets and towels.

Also drive to Assateague National Seashore an hour south of Deal
Island also Ocean City is also an hour drive away.
Salisbury is the metropolis 35 minutes away. Huge mall and movie
theater await you for even more adventures.
Food Lion is just at the end of the road and to the left. Mt Vernon
Road. Nearby restaurants include Peakys for sit down delish meal or
Beach to Bay seafood across from McDonalds. There is also a new
cool little hangout in Princess Anne called Petit Fleur. It is my
understanding you can get coffee there or danish also neat little
gifts. Make sure you inquire about getting a Yoga session at the
local yoga studio. So Fun and relaxing.
