The area offers local restaurants, unique art galleries and shops, and a 22 mile bike/jogging path that runs along the coastline. 10 miles away lies 'civilization' in Destin where you can enjoy Destin Commons, Silver Sands outlet mall, movies and night life. If you want adventure, hike through Point Washington State Forest across the street. The trail system consists of 3 double track loop trails. The hiker or bicyclist can travel the 3.5, 5 or 10 mile loop. Always fun is to take a guided ride on horseback through Point Washington State Forest.
