Vacation Rental Description

                     Welcome Home !!!

     Our one of a kind, authentic post and beam cabin is located 
near the Nantahala Mountain Range, just a short distance to the 
Appalachian hiking trail in the Great Smokey Mountains. The Little 
Tennessee River is within 1-2 miles. Burningtown Creek is within 
walking distance. Nice for those who like to fish!

     The cabin has 2 bedrooms each with queen size bed and with a 
private deck off each bedroom. The loft area has 2 twin beds with 
its own view of the mountains. Due to the low ceiling height of ~5.5 
feet this area is ideal for children. Plenty of room for 6 people.

     There are 2 full size bathrooms. One has a full size shower and 
the other has a tub and shower combination. Towels and bed linens 
are provided one time. There is a washer and dryer available for 
your use. Bring your own towels for raft trips, outdoor creek use, 
or for extras if you desire more. Laundry detergent and fabric 
softener will be supplied.  We do ask that a full load is washed at 
one time. The water is on a well system and most precious to us.

     Although the cabin is a smoke free environment, you may smoke 
on any one of the many decks, while enjoying the breathtaking views 
of the Nantahala Mountain Range.

     Sorry, no pets.

What to bring:
     Our mountain weather is unpredictable. It can be cold and wet 
at any time of the year. Following is a list of suggested items to 
consider bringing or adding to your grocery list-

      bath soaps, shampoo              flashlights
      Kleenex, paper goods             rain gear, jackets, sweats
      foil, baggies, etc               fishing gear, golf gear
      food, spices, coffee, tea        water shoes
      BBQ charcoal, lighter fluid      insect repellant
      First Aid kit                    extra towels, mud rags

Parking is limited to 2 cars. Special arrangements in advance will 
need to be made for trailers or any other equipment other than cars 
and pickup trucks.

Vacation Rental Amenities

* For the chef in the family, a fully equipped kitchen- 
refrigerator, gas stove, dishwasher, microwave, and coffee pot (with 
permanent filter) .

* Don't want to cook indoors, and miss the sunset, then feel free to 
use the charcoal grill provided right outside the kitchen door. You 
will need to bring you own charcoal.

* Central heat and air, ceiling fans and freestanding fireplace for 
those cool mountain nights or warm days.

* Satellite TV, DVD, CD player/tape/radio

* Telephone available for emergency and local calls only. Will need 
calling card/credit card to make long distance calls. Cell phones do 
not work is this area. If you need the phone number for the cabin, 
contact us for this number.

* Washer and dryer are also available.

* A fire pit is located near the porch area. One load of firewood is 
provided. More firewood is available for a small fee. It is your 
responsibility to follow fire and safety guidelines to protect our 
nature's forests. 

Activities and Attractions

   Smoke Ridge Cabin is in a quiet area, surrounded by the 
mountains; offering you a sense of peace and quiet, while relaxing 
on the porch or sitting by the outdoor fire. The cabin is secluded, 
affording you privacy and serenity.

Hunting, fishing, white water rafting, tubing, canoeing, biking, 
motorcycle riding, skiing, casino, gem mining, golf, and of course, 
seeing the local tourist sites are located close by.

Cherokee, Dillsboro, Franklin, Sylva, Waynesville, and Bryson City 
are within 30 minutes driving time for shopping, sightseeing, and 
mountain adventures.

Asheville, NC is a 2 hr drive and Atlanta is 3 hrs.

Vacation Rental Rates

           $100.00 per night, preferably 3 nights mininmum.
                 Plus all state and county taxes, 10%
 
               Special discount--$595 per week - 7 nights

              Call to discuss discounts for extended stays.

  50% deposit is required to hold your reservation. The deposit must 
be received within 14 days of scheduling to confirm your dates. The 
balance is due upon arrival. Cash, checks, money orders, and 
traveler checks are accepted. No credit cards.
 
No security deposit nor cleaning fees are charged. Residents are 
expected to care for the cabin and be responsible for damages that 
may occur during their stay.

Cancellation policy: 30 days notification prior to arrival date. The 
deposit will be refunded less a $25.00 cancellation fee. Otherwise, 
the deposit is forfeited.
