Mysthaven -- Making our vacation home yours... in Newport

Honeymoon

As always we are counting the days to our trip to the coast in July (2012). Mysthaven has become "our place!" It was the first vacation we took as a couple, and it will be where we spend the first few nights of our honeymoon.

Of course, I'll have to listen to my husband saying "I love Mysthaven! They've thought of everything!" just like I do every time we go. :)

Mysthaven

Nice place - not to fancy but very comfortable and fairly close to the beach. Very clean and the kitchen was fully equipped. The place has a nice deck in front and a charcoal grill. Neighborhood was quiet. It's just south of Newport and easy to get to town. Newport is a fairly large town with a number of grocery stores and the historic bay front was a fun destination when the weather was rainy. The beach was empty most of the days we were there which was nice. Only thing we would have changed is a door lock on the master bedroom. Drinking water was strongly chlorinated and we ended up buying water after the first day. The owner was great to work with and I thought the description of the property was accurate. Lots of movies for the kids for some downtime.

Recommended for: age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers, girls getaway, pet-friendly, romantic getaway

Relax at Mysthaven

We and our dogs had a great time at Mysthaven. The house stays really toasty warm, a big plus when we came in from hiking along the beach in November. It's a really beautiful stretch of coastline, you can walk forever at low tide, we even saw a bald eagle.

We loved the house, it's well cared for and the master bedroom and bath are gorgeous. The open living, dining, kitchen area is very large and cozy. There's a nice variety of movies and games. The furniture is very comfortable and the house book quickly and easily explained operating the amenities. The house sits in a nice quiet area and the neighbors we spoke with were all very friendly.

Recommended for: age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers, pet-friendly, romantic getaway
