Welcome to Casa Manglar - Mahahual
Casa Manglar is a Eco friendly guesthouse and camping.
Casa Manglar is a front beach guesthouse and camping near Mahahual, an ancient fishermen village
located south of Mexico. The Mexican Caribbean and the unspoiled jungles surround Casa Manglar, where
we focus in a very personalized service by having a low density parameter. We only have two rooms and
three palm leaves roofs to camp.
The two rooms shares a big terrace in an upper level and a bathroom. From the terrace you will have
the most beautiful sunrises and sunsets. We also give the choice to rent both rooms as a suite.
Another option Casa Manglar offers you is to camp on the beach. For this, we will provide you the
necessary equipment to have a comfortable night.
The white sand and the blue ocean helps to provide you an excellent and memorable experience. Here,
you will feel the beauty of the Caribbean by relaxing in one of the hammocks we have for you.

Local Attractions
Staying at the Casa Manglar you have a variety of options on what you can do. In and around Mahahual
there are many attractions and activities. These can vary from relaxing and simply watching the day
go by, to more sporting and cultural experiences. Below you can find a list of things to do with a
short description. See if there is anything that can interest you!
Kayaking, Snorkelling and Diving:
The Costa Maya is blessed with one of the world’s biggest reefs. Many of species of life can be found
and enjoyed nearby. Almost all can be enjoyed while snorkelling but there are also great spots for
diving. Depths vary from 6 to 60 metres, so divers of all levels can take part.
Horse back and bike riding:
For a nice and relaxing exploration of the area, you can go on horse back or bike riding. In a
leisurely pace you can enjoy the un-spoilt nature. These trips will start in the village of Mahahual
and can take from one to several hours.
Deep sea fishing:
Of the Coast of Mahahual there is some great deep sea fishing. This will be a day trip as you will be
going further out to sea. Several companies offer this unique experience and as trips and prices
depend on the availability and the circumstances of the day, we recommend you to inform with us
locally.
Sian Kaan Biosphere Reserve:
The Sian Kaan Biosphere Reserve is a huge area with unique geography and wetlands. There are over 20
archaeological sites and many species of wildlife, including the crocodile and turtle, which lay
their eggs there. It is the largest marine natural protected area in Mexico, is a United Nations
World Heritage site, designated to be protected for its rich biodiversity and unique Mayan cultures
which have inhabited the peninsula for ages.
Archaeological Sites:
Throughout the Yucatan area there are many fantastic Mayan sites. Also in the vicinity of Mahahual
there are some that can not be ignored by the cultural explorer. Kohunlich, Chacchoben and Oxtankah
are closest by. As these sites are not completely restored, they still are placed amidst jungle
areas. Here also you will have ample opportunity to encounter wildlife during your trip.
Bacalar and Cenote Azul:
Further down south at Bacalar is the “Lagoon of Seven Colours”. This lagoon is about an hours drive
towards Chetumal, down the 307 Highway. Its beautiful colours invite you for swimming and relaxation.
Nearby you can also marvel at the Cenote Azul, a sink hole, of which there are many in the Yucatan
area, due to the lime stone underground.

Cuarto Manglar
In this room the view of the ocean is the first sight in the morning. It has one double bed and one
twin bed. The usage of the bathroom is shared with Cuarto Solar.
The price for this room is 60 USD per couple and 10 USD per extra person. Breakfast is included.
Cuarto Solar
This room has direct access to the terrace and it also has a beautiful view. The usage of the
bathroom is shared with Cuarto Solar. It has one double bed and one twin bed.
The price for this room is 60 USD per couple and 10 USD per extra person. Breakfast is included.
Suite Manglar
Casa Manglar offers a special price for people renting both Cuarto Solar and Cuarto Manglar in Casa
Manglar. You will enjoy the usage of a private bathroom and the seclusion of both rooms from the rest
of the hotel.
Enjoy the discount price for Suite Manglar of 130 USD per couple and 10 USD per extra person.
Breakfast is included.
Casita del Mar #1, and #2
Casa Manglar offers you the option of being closer to nature by camping. We have two palm leaves
roofs with sand floor for this purpose. Your tent and a comfortable bed will be ready when you
arrive. We will provide you of towels and a lamp to make you feel comfortable at night. The tents
share toilets and shower.
The price for each casita is 40 USD per couple and 7 USD per extra person. The maximum capacity in
casita #1 and #2 is 2 people. Breakfast is included.
Casita del Mar #3
This Casita is a bigger option to camp and it has wooden floor. Your tent and a comfortable bed will
be ready when you arrive. We will provide you of towels and a lamp to make you feel comfortable at
night. The tents share toilets and shower.
The price for this casita is 65 USD. The maximum capacity is 4 people. Breakfast is included.
