Owners response: I'm very sorry for this tenant's feelings. I did give the keys to someone thinking this condo was empty because the current tenant complained about dirty, smelly carpets and the carpet in this unit had been steam cleaned January 9, 2012 and the lady who occupied the unit January thru March was in her 80's and kept everything very neat and clean. Especially the carpets. If things were dirty she would never have tolerated it. However my other condo did need the carpets cleaned. Therefore the mixup. I apologized profusely all to no avail. I always offer to correct any problem a tenant has but had it in writing from this tenant not to do anything until she left, she just wanted to insure she got her security deposit back. Which she did - in a very prompt manner.
There are 2 very large closets and one standard size closet plus a linen cupboard. The utility closet has an ironing board, iron, extra kitchen gadgets, mop, vacuum, a roll away bed and cans of paint stored within. I think there's a lamp there too. Being a short term rental unit it is rare for a tenant to require additional storage space but had I been informed she needed more space for her one month stay in April 2012 I could easily have taken items out of the closet.
I would be happy to provide references from previous renters for any prospective renter if you so desire. And you are always welcome to examine the condo prior to occupancy.
