Rest on the back porch and listen to the river flow by, or hop down to fish and relax on a huge rock in the middle of the river. Spacious, level grounds surrounding the cottage provide lots of safe play spaces for families.
Linville River Cottage is attractively decorated and comfortably furnished, with a fully equipped kitchen and many extras to enhance your visit. You'll be cozy in a full-sized bed; a sleeper sofa in the spacious living room faces a stone wood-burning fireplace... offering sleeping for two more adults or the kids (firewood available). Satellite TV with DVR!
The kitchen will appeal to any cook, with a farmhouse sink, dishwasher, garbage disposal, coffee maker, microwave, food processor, and more -- even a picnic basket! The bathroom offers a shower, and a washer/dryer.
Linville River Cottage is located in a small community of similar homes, about three miles from the Blue Ridge Parkway (mp 317) and the little mountain village of Linville Falls. There you'll find beautiful 90' waterfalls, many trails, caverns, picnic grounds, and Linville Gorge, a hiker's paradise. Other towns just a few miles away include Newland (the highest county seat east of the Rockies!), Linville, Banner Elk, and Spruce Pine.   Several ski resorts, golf courses, riding stables, and many other attractions and activities can be found within 30-45 minutes. You can spend the day with the beauty and solitude of the forests and rivers, and still have time for dinner in a fine restaurant, or shop for that special artwork or antiques. This is a great central location for your High Country vacation!
