vacation rental description

The Sequoia Park View House is set right on the Kaweah River, two miles from the entrance to Sequoia National Park. The spectacular views from all rooms stretch from the main fork of the Kaweah River all the way to the tops of Moro Rock and the snow capped Alta Peak in Sequoia National Park. Even the Three Rivers natives say, "WOW, WHAT A VIEW!" when they first walk through the front door.

We do accept reservations for a two night minimum stay during the summer season at the standard rate of $400 per night, and the rate drops to $350 per night if you reserve three, four or five nights. A six night stay is at $325 per night, and the weekly rate is $2,200.

Please note: We now provide free long distance calling to anywhere in the U.S.via our land line phone since the cell phone service of some providers in our area can be weak or nonexistent.

There are two bedrooms with queen beds in each and a double sized futon in the
lower river room, which has a wall of windows from the floor to the vaulted ceiling 18 feet above. The upper river room shares the same vaulted ceiling and overlooks the lower river room. It has a TV/DVD/VCR and stereo, ceiling fan, and dining table and chairs. It opens into the kitchen area, which is equipped with ceiling fan, dishwasher, microwave, refrigerator, oven/range, and all the necessary dishes, glasswares, and cooking utensils.

The lower river room opens onto the covered upper deck, which includes a ceiling fan and the outside dining table and chairs. A lower deck is seven steps down from there and is perched over gigantic boulders on the edge of the river.

The master bedroom also has a TV/DVD/VCR, a vaulted ceiling with ceiling fan, and
adjoins the spacious master bath/dressing area. The hallway bathroom has a tub and
shower with a Sequoia Park view as well.

There is a gas barbeque grill outside, and up a walkway you will find another deck
overlooking horseshoe pits and expansive views of the foothills and mountains. The house is privately situated on one and two/thirds acres at the end of a 400' paved driveway.

There is satellite TV reception and a land line phone for local and free long distance calling within the U.S. This 2,100 square foot house was built in 1994 and has central air
conditioning and heating

You will find sitting on the river deck so mesmerizing and relaxing that it will be hard to
pull yourself away to enjoy all that Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks and the Three Rivers area has to offer.

No smoking is allowed in the house!

Please note that all or part of the $500 Security Deposit will not be refunded if the house has been smoked in or left in an unusually dirty condition or if there are any damages to the house or property!

traveler reviews for this sequoia house rental

Peaceful getaway, highly recommended!

Review submitted: January 5, 2014   Date of arrival: December 26, 2013

The house is in a great location and is itself a beauty. The photos don't do the place justice. The house is spacious, comfortable, and has a beautiful view of mountains and the river. It was also very easy to go into Sequoia National Park for a day hike.

Kitchen and bedrooms were well stocked. Our group was only 6 but there was plenty of space for 8 people or more provided you bring extra sleeping gear.

Owner and property manager make the transaction very smooth and easy. Highly recommended for an escape into nature. We had a pleasant time and would likely not hesitate to come back here.

Beautiful House

Review submitted: September 10, 2013   Date of arrival: August 30, 2013

Staying at this property for our Labor day weekend was a great choice. All of our family members had a fantastic time. We loved the sound of running water and how it's so close to the house. We could just simply walk down and play in water. Loved the lay out of the house with high ceiling and it's cleanness. The house was very well maintained and equipped. We will definitely come back!

Best Family Vacation in a Decade

Review submitted: September 3, 2013   Date of arrival: August 6, 2013

A fabulous place to relax and jump off to Sequoia National Park. The property owner and manager were easy to work with. If you are going to spend the money on a vacation rental, the 3 most important rules of real estate should apply. This rental lives up to those rules, as well as being a spacious place to get away and relax. Our family had a great time. Our daughter rated it as topping our Hawaiian family vacation of years ago. So lets review the 3 basic real estate rules and how they apply.

#1 Location: proximity and convenience. This home is close to the park entrance, easy to find from the main road, and close to a town with 2 gas stations, restaurants, and a market.
#2 Location: privacy and comfort. The home is down a slight hill or knoll from the main road, which shields the house from any road noise. It's right on the river bank. Private but not secluded. The water passing over the rocks in the river generate a more even and pleasing white noise than ocean waves. The home has a spacious, open concept design for the master suite and the main living area. This makes it easy to prepare meals, or enjoy the views.
#3 Location: The views. The river side of the house has 8 oversized picture windows on a two story exposure that provides a priceless view of Moro Rock and the Keweah River.

On the day of our arrival, we relaxed at the house, explored the river in the afternoon, and had a nice simple dinner on the patio. The Char-Broil Patio Caddie propane grill was clean and easy to use. Our family plan was to bring food for the first few days from home in a cooler. After dinner we packed a lunch for the next day in the park and went to bed early to take advantage of daylight in the park. We awoke the next day shortly after daylight. Everyone had a good sleep on the firm beds. We got up, showered, and made the traditional big american breakfast. We cleaned up, packed our lunch in the car, and set off for the park just before 8 AM. The advantage here is that the roads are basically empty. Most of the other visitors are either sleeping in, or driving from points further away. We got in the park and up the road to the visitors center in time to get a same day reservation for the Crystal Cave tour, which gave us plenty of time to stop along the road for pics and enjoy the morning views. It was a breeze driving in and out of the park for daily activities. I am looking forward to returning in the fall with the wife for a more romantic retreat.
