Flexible dates- 1br apt downtown with pool for up to 6! in Ocean City

The worst Nightmare!!

we went to Ocean City in August 2012. We decided to go to Ocean City the week before with our dog. The only property that we found was this.....In the pictures the apartment doesn’t look ugly, but as soon as you open the door, you will ask yourself: Will I stay for a week in HERE??? We were totally regret .
The kitchen has nothing. No glasses, no spoons, no pots....The beds awful, dirty, smelly, the pillow with blood spots!!! We came home one day early, even the dog was desperate to return....
You only will find 3 chairs!!!! But the apartment it is suppose for six !!!!
We were very disappointed, we wasted our money. The pool is terrible, dirty, small....The beach is 5 long blocks to the beach. The worst vacation ever!!!!
Please, leave your dog anywhere and rent a better place.

The only reason that we chose this place was so that we could bring our dog along. That said, I wasn't expecting much when we arrived.

The management company is very easy to work with, and we had no issues around making the reservations, checking in, or checking out.

The pictures are out-of-date, as the furniture has been replaced. One of the beds has a broken frame that's being held up by a block of wood. The pool is across the street, not next to the building as the photos imply (my children thought the pool was gross and only swam in it once). The unit is on the 3rd floor, so people with issues climbing stairs should avoid this place. The staircase at the rear of the building is rickety and in need of repair, but the front stairs are solid. The kitchen came stocked with enough dishes for our family of 4, and a few frying pans. If you need other cooking pots, you'll have to bring them yourself.

When we first entered the unit, the smell of air freshener was overwhelming. The carpet in the living room was damp (I think the bottle of Febreze under the sink was the culprit), and the 2 plug-in air fresheners were turned up to 5. Once we turned them down to 1, and gave the carpet a chance to dry and air out a bit, things got better.

I can't overemphasize how convenient this location is to the bay (one block) and the beach and Boardwalk (3 blocks). If you plan to buy groceries, you'll need a car, but everything else is within walking distance (including a small corner market on the next block that also sells beer and wine).

This is a building that also rents to college-aged folks. Despite that fact, we only had one night with noise issues (a pleasant surprise). I have a feeling that June would be a bad time to stay here if you're not a college-aged person looking for a party.

If we decide to return to OC with our dog, we would rent this unit again. Without the dog, we would look for a different place to stay.
