quick facts

vacation rental description

A classic "old Florida" bungalow, newly updated to provide you a comfortable refuge in downtown Sarasota.  Walk through the pretty Laurel Park neighborhood (recently named a National Historic District) to nearby urban amenities: Main Street shops, restaurants and movies, Towles Court artists' colony with galleries and studios, Payne Park, the beautiful Sarasota bayfront, the Saturday farmers market.

The new bathroom and updated kitchen are classically styled, squeaky-clean and fully equipped. Enjoy sunny days on the lanai (complete with Florida-style louvered windows) or the backyard stone patio furnished with table, chairs and umbrella; pick citrus fruit from your own trees. Tile floors throughout continue the cool but tropical feel.

Ten minutes in the car will take you to Lido or Siesta Key beaches with their famous white sands.

"My wife and I just want to say that we were completely happy with the house rental.  It was more spacious than any hotel room, perfectly clean, with a comfortable bed, extra rooms for work or reading, and a great flat screen TV with DVD player.   The kitchen was well equipped for cooking and entertaining with a fabulous outdoor grill and professional utensils (something the guy cares about).   The location just off downtown made it convenient to sightseeing at the harbor, attending shows, and having fun on rental bikes.  It was an ideal choice for our vacation.  Thanks."  -  Mark & Peggy

Charming bungalow in historic district

Kelley (Wasington, DC)
Review submitted: May 6, 2011   Date of arrival: April 15, 2011

Our family of four, my husband and I and our eleven-year-old daughter and eight-year-old son spent at week at this rental. The bungalow served as a great base for our first stay in and exploration of Sarasota and the surrounding area. The house, located in an historic district filled with eclectic bungalows, was clean and comfortably furnished, which made it easy to relax. We walked to shops and the Saturday Farmer’s Market downtown as well as to various restaurants, including some just a block or two away. We liked having a kitchen available so that we could make simple meals for the times we did not want to go out. Also, having Wi-Fi available for the times we had to check-in with work was convenient as was having a full-size washer and dryer available after a day at the beach or other outdoor activity.

A quaint bungalow in a great location

Review submitted: January 20, 2011   Date of arrival: September 22, 2010

This was a very nice bungalow in a great location. It was an easy walk to downtown Sarasota, with its fabulous restaurants and night life. However one need not walk all the way downtown to enjoy good restaurants as there are great ones right in the Laurel district. My favorite was the Fish Camp by the Burns Court Theater. Marianne (the owner) was a delight to work with. I would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the Sarasota area.

Recommended for: adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children, people with disabilities, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sight seeing, tourists without a car, romantic getaway
