Wanna get away? Come to 39 Little Bear Island in Lake Winnipesaukee

"Wanna get away?" Recently refurbished Little Bear Island cottage in a peaceful and relaxing setting that was originally built in the 1950's available for rent. The intention is to maintain the cozy cottage feel but add amenties to further enjoy the location. Enjoy a place literally over the water with ideal exposure, great sunsets, and privacy among 300 feet of water frontage on a 1.4 acre setting. Being on an island you MUST HAVE YOUR OWN BOAT. Includes a new 30 foot U-shaped crib dock, new roof, new windows, complete new kitchen(cabinets & appliances), washer/dryer, winterized, new decking and paint.

Also newly equipped with microwave, new stove, new refrigerator and automatic dishwasher. Includes use of weber gas grill, dishes, pots & pans, cooking and eating utensils, miscellaneous small appliances,etc.. In addition there's a pedal boat, 1-person kayak, and a woodstove for the cool evenings. The cottage is situated with southwest exposure such that you get the sun from about 11 am until it sets. Not far across the water is a Loon sanctuary(Ragged Island) and a distant view of Gunstock mountain. At night it is common to hear the call of the nearby Loons which often come and play or feed very close to the house. During a full moon and clear sky the lake is very well lit up and it's difficult not to enjoy the serenity and the company of those you are with.

Two bedrooms upstairs, plus a full-size futon and convertible couch downstairs allows a total of 6-8 people for sleeping accomodations.This is a quaint location directly on the water with an awesome view where building this close to the water is now prohibited. Once you see pictures you will "get the idea". There are also two moorings available if you choose to have your boat away from the docking area.

About twenty feet behind the house there is a bath house inclusive of a full size tub/shower, toilet, vanity, and stacked washer/dryer combination.

The cottage is directly on the lake and there is deep water right out front that is perfect for swimming, sailing, kayaking, windsurfing, fishing, water skiing, and other water activities. Some may just want to chill out and relax by reading a book, play board games,nap, etc.. Both radio and computer reception at this location is fantastic. Overall Little Bear Island has about 55 houses/cottages surrounding the waterfront. It is especially quiet during the week when most people are at work. Shore access and parking are conveniently available at Harilla Landing in Moultonboro(not even a 10 minute boat ride) or Pier 19 Tuftonboro. At both locations one can launch a boat. At Pier 19 there is gas, ice cream and a food market available for anything you would need right on the water.

Nearby towns are Wolfeboro(Known as America's oldest resort town), Tuftonboro, and Moultonboro, New Hampshire. But, if properly equipped and stocked, most won't want to leave this relaxing location.

May-October $1300-2100 per week. Rates are negotiable, especially if you book early or for multiple weeks or by the month. Would consider long weekends as long as adjacent weeks are not rented. Thanks for looking!
