Coastal Magazine Idea House "Top Shelf" in Carillon Beach

"Top Shelf" was singled out by Coastal Living Magazine to be
its Idea House in Carillon Beach, and it was featured in a
whopping 40-page spread in Coastal Living. Additionally, this home
was the former second home of Major League Baseball player and
Atlanta Braves standout Brett Butler. And to say this three-bedroom+
home equals Carillon Beach's overall comeliness would be a sort of
grotesque understatement. First of all, it's a physically stunning
thing - with its (a) five porches, (b) front and rear decks, (c)
living-room fireplace (operated by a light switch), (d) 10-foot
ceilings, (e) transom windows, (f) second-story awning (if the wall-
mounted anemometer registers too high a wind-speed, it automatically
signals the thing to retract), (g) third-story tower with clouds
painted on the ceiling, (h) immaculate landscaping, (i) granite
countertops, (j) marble flooring (k) top-of-the-line brushed-
stainless appliances - not to mention (l) all the Hemingwayesque
furniture (oversized, with lots of leather and dark woods) and (m)
original art spread throughout the place. But furthermore, the house
is just sort of eminently livable, possibly because it blends -
according to the architect who designed it - the three basic
principles of harmony (classicism, rationalism and romanticism),
which, of course, are designed to be felt as much as perceived.

neighborhood development, where everything is located within a five
minute walk. Carillon Beach is great for walks down
private streets, and promenades lead the visitor from their
comfortable front porch to downtown Carillon neighborhood center
shops and restaurants. Carillon Beach has three pools, a downtown
area with multiple shops and restaurants. Carillon Beach also has a
playground, kids pool, tennis courts, basketball court, Jet Skis and
Sailing are available. Within the Carillon communitiy is a chapel
with non-denominational services on Sunday. "Top Shelf" is located
approximately 1 block from the beach and has both Gulf and Lake
views.
