to downtown Asheville) our home (1750 sq ft under air/heat) boasts
four bedrooms and two full baths. Nestled among the trees, it provides
both privacy and tranquility. When staying here, you may feel like
it's in the middle of nowhere but actually it's minutes from everything!

Activities and Attractions

Known as "The Front Porch of Western North Carolina", Black Mountain
is cradled by mountains. Don't let the fact that Silky Oaks is located
here fool you...there's PLENTY of things to do in this quaint, little
town that are within a mile of the home! For example:

*Enjoy hanging out "people watching" or reading your favorite magazine
while enjoying a cup-o’-joe from the Dripolator (Black Mountain's
version of Starbucks).

*Stroll down Cherry Street while window shopping at the numerous arts
& crafts boutiques, specialty/artist studios and antique stores.

*Have a lazy-day picnic at Lake Tomahawk and enjoy some of the best
mountain views in town. Or enjoy the recreational activities it has 
to offer (like feeding the ducks, walking the .55 mile path around
the lake, fishing, swimming, or playing tennis or croquet.)

*Just up the street from the lake is the Black Mountain Municipal Golf
Course. This 6,215-yard (par 71) 18-hole facility is the home to the
747-yard (par 6) 17th hole, which at one time was the longest hole
in the world!

*If you're all tense and stressed out, why not pamper yourself at
Solstice, a full-service salon and spa.

*At night, enjoy live music 6 nights a week at one local “watering
hole” while two others occasionally offer live music (one even has
karaoke from time-to-time!)

*And then there's the food.... Black Mountain has a wide array of
charming restaurants and cafés to please most palates (and the variety
is ever growing!) Some of the more popular eateries are: Morning Glory
Café, Black Mountain Bakery, The Veranda, Ole’ Guacamole, Que Sera,
The Black Mountain Bistro, My Father’s Pizza, The Cellar Door and The
Green Light Café.

And just in case you DO decide to visit other places, a short car ride
will get you to: Downtown Asheville (15 miles) and The Biltmore Estate
(14 miles); Pisgah National Forest (4 miles); Blue Ridge Parkway (10
miles); Chimney Rock (20 miles); Lake Lure (21 miles); and Down-Hill
Snow Skiing (46 miles).

$150*/night, weekday nights (Sunday-Thursday).
$195*/night, weekend nights (Friday & Saturday).
*Rates based on FIVE (5) person occupancy. 
Additional persons are $25/each/night.
2 night minimum stay required. Rates good thru 12/31/08.
$70-$125 cleaning fee.
