The RiverPlace home is located on a picturesque 95 acre property with a wonderful waterfront view of the Pedernales River. To one side of the house is a spring-fed creek that feeds into the river. Just across the creek is a large covered pavilion that makes a great picnic area. Our dock located where the creek joins the river is currently on dry land due to the drought. A short drive away, Lake Travis awaits you at Pace Bend Park, one of the largest Texas Parks and Wildlife parks. Our property consists of a 40 acre meadow and 40 acres of wooded terrain. The House is located in the wooded area, which is criss-crossed with walking paths. The RiverPlace Home is part of a small complex with another vacation home and the caretaker's cottage. Our guests enjoy relaxing on the porch, hiking the walking trails, and visiting nearby attractions. There are a number of vineyards in the area that welcome guests for wine tastings or just browsing. There are also nearby adventure experiences, from ziplining at Cedar Creek Canopy Tours, to swimming in natural pools such as Hamilton's Pool or Krause Springs.

You are only 45 minutes from downtown Austin, with attractions such as Austin City Limits, Sixth Street, South by Southwest, Travis County Expo Center, and the latest F-1 track - the Circuit of the Americas just beyond downtown.

A Great, Quiet Country Spot

We'd rented the property for a weekend vacation coming down from DFW. Coming in, we were looking for a quiet weekend to relax and it suited us perfectly. The property accommodated the six of us very well.

The interior was comfortable and clean. The kitchen included everything we needed to cook and prepare our meals. The bathrooms were clean and included plenty of clean towels. We stayed in the master bedroom and the bed was soft, pillowy heaven. The living room area is open and a good place to sit around and converse.

Moving outside, we loved the wrap around patio. We spent a good part of the weekend outside talking at the tables and on the chair swing. The river was down (as it has been everywhere lately) but not low enough to prevent boaters from buzzing by every once in a while.

One pleasant surprise was the walking trail that leads from the house adjacent to the creek running into the Pedernales. Much of the path was manicured impressively well and lead back through trees and eventually to the neighboring property. Very, very peaceful.

Outside of that, there is shopping and groceries easily available about 15 minutes away in Bee Cave. We hadn't planned on going to the Lake, but if we had, it would have been an easy. Also (Willie Nelson's) Pedernales Country Club is right around the corner.

We all enjoyed our stay very much and would come back in a heartbeat.

Awesome Stay

My Husband and I and Family rented this Property to have some family time with our Son who is station at fort hood, and daughter and 5 month old grandson.
We had 9 of us there and it was very roomy. The master bed room bed was heaven, never slept in anything quit like it slept like a baby. Kitchen was big and had everything we needed, Living room was very roomy. Our favorite was the wrap around porch with swing and lots of tables and chairs we spent most of our time there. Even though the river was dry up we had a great view of nature, cows, deer, birds. It rained a couple of days we were there and got to see the river come back to life that was awesome.
The care takers of the property Dave and Tammie were great, very helpful and great people, and if we need anything they were on it.
Our vacation was the best ever to spend time with love ones.
Would come back in a heartbeat.

Beautiful House and experience

Several of us rented this house from John at the beginning of August. It was a wonderful place to stay. The area that it is located in is nice and private, with good scenery.

We were able to get to the park and swim in a short amount of time, and driving into downtown Austin was also very reasonable. The groundskeepers were very helpful and super nice. It was a very pleasurable experience overall. No surprises. I would definitely recommend staying here, and will likely do it again.
