Activities and Attractions

Go fishing on the beach or schedule a deep sea fishing trip.  For 
the 
more adventurous, swimming or snorkeling the reef, which is just off 
shore, or fishing and kayaking might be of more interest.

Kayaking

The island of Eleuthera boasts two beautiful coastlines as well as 
many inland lagoons and ponds.  This translates to safe, comfortable 
kayaking conditions in almost any weather. The areas in which you 
can 
kayak are plentiful in bird life and marine life. We provide you 
with 
the equipment - ocean kayak, paddles, backrests and life jackets 
(for 
2) at Ocean Daze. Just bring your camera!

Snorkeling
Snorkeling in Eleuthera is incredible! This a snorkeller's 
paradise!  
Crystal clear waters and thousands of shallow reefs offshore are 
teeming with marine life. Ocean Daze has its own reef literally just 
offshore, in the back garden. Hundreds of tropical fish can be seen 
around the reefs of Eleuthera, amazingly beautiful coral formations, 
rays, eels, starfish, even turtles and sharks, as well as beautiful 
shells, sea biscuits and sand dollars. 

You can snorkel in your own back yard or arrange to snorkel with the 
experts. You'll get to see  grouper, hogfish, giant snappers and 
nurse sharks to name but a few, and you'll have cherished memories 
to 
last a lifetime!

Caves & Blue Holes-Hiking/Exploring
Eleuthera is considered by many to be the the most beautiful, 
unspoilt island in the Bahamas.  This is due to its rolling green 
hills, breathtaking views, inland lagoons and lakes, lush tropical 
folliage and spectacular pink sand beaches that stretch for miles. 
There are lots of historical ruins on the island in the different 
settlements, and some fascinating caves (Hatchet Bay) and blue holes 
to explore.  Feast your senses on the magnificent unspoilt beauty of 
this island.

Beach Toys & Activities
Ocean Daze has a number of beach toys available, such as paddle 
ball, 
football, beach ball, frisbee, styrofoam noodles and floats.  We 
also 
have traditional games such as chess, checkers, backgammon, 
dominoes, 
monopoly, playing cards, and more. If you like reading at the beach, 
or in the shady hammock, Ocean Daze has a number of books and 
magazines for your added enjoyment.
Of course, you could always build pink sand castles too...

Flora and Fauna
Eleuthera is a nature lover's paradise!  Beautiful flowers, birds, 
insects, wildlife and marine life can be seen throughout the island. 
Tropical flowers bloom all year long. Herons, Egrets and Anhinga are 
common around the inland lagoons, and other tropical birds such as 
hummingbirds, are just fascinating to watch! The marine life around 
the island is truly incredible - keep your eyes open for sea turtles 
while crossing the bridge into Windermere Island.

Stargazing
Away from any form of light pollution, the night sky over Eleuthera 
is a dazzling sight of celestial splendor!  Literally millions of 
stars can be seen, like brilliant diamonds against a black velvet 
sky. Lie back in the sand and wish upon a shooting star, or learn to 
identify the constellations.

Shelling/Beachcombing
The powdery pink sand beaches of Eleuthera are full of treasures for 
beachcombing enthusiasts.  Shells, driftwood, buoys, netting, sea 
glass and other treasures are easily found. On the Caribbean side of 
the island, some of the shells that can be collected are quite 
incredible, such as conch, butterfly shells, sea biscuits, sand 
dollars and sea urchins. Eleuthera has literally hundreds of beaches 
to explore!  One of the most beautiful beaches being right in your
