Vacation Rental Description

   Our four  bedroom, four and one-half bath villa is situated on a dramatic 
cliffside, above lush vegetation and crashing surf, with commanding, 270 
degree views of the Bahia de Manzanillo, the mountains of Colima and the 
beautiful coastline of the Costa Alegre (truly a happy coast) of the Mexican 
Pacific shore. Casa Lucero blends modern, open spaces with ethnographic 
art, and custom-made, colonial-influence furnishings. 
   Enter through the hand carved doors at street level and descend a broad 
stone staircase into an open courtyard cactus garden, where over 20 varieties 
grow. Here, you look across the Talavera-tiled horizon pool out over the bay. 
To the right is a dining room, seating up to 12, which overlooks the water and 
banks of lush bougainvillea.
The high palapa roof and chandelier make an imposing entry. Behind the 
dining room is a true cook's kitchen - complete with Viking range and gas 
barbecue grill. There is a well-appointed laundry for the care of your clothes 
during your stay. There is brilliant color everywhere! 
   The living room dominates the main floor under a giant, wood-beamed 
palapa. The slate tile floor offsets the bright colors of the artwork. The 
furnishings are elegant but comfortable. A built-in bar makes entertaining 
simple. For casual breakfasts and smaller lunches and dinners, a granite 
topped table seats six under the palapa on the terrace. A charming powder 
room is off the living room. A special feature of the main floor is the Studio. 
This quaint room has L-shaped leather sofas, an oriental rug, huge coffee 
table, desk and built-in media cabinetry. It evokes a cozy, 1930's feeling.
   A grand tile  staircase leads to  the private lower courtyard and the 
bedrooms. A large, gentle fountain greets you in this cool, shady space filled 
with art and comfortable equipal sofas and chairs. Each bedroom opens onto 
this fan-shaped space.  A small staircase leads to the lower garden where a 
profusion of flowering bushes, banana and citrus trees flourish.
   The Master Suite consists of a large sitting room, king-sized bed area, desk, 
private balcony with seating, walk-in closet, a large bath with double sinks, 
open shower, Jacuzzi tub and separate toilet area. The Guest Suite has a 
king-sized bed, private balcony, desk, ample closets and large bathroom. The 
two Family Bedrooms have large closets, private baths and (2) double beds 
each. A full crib and crib bedding is available at no extra charge.

Vacation Rental Amenities

   All bedrooms are individually air-conditioned, but also have ceiling fans for 
cooler evenings. The Studio is also air-conditioned. Each bedroom has a 
marble-tiled private bath with robes and hairdryers provided, and lots of closet 
and drawer space.  There are televisions in the main floor Studio and Master 
Sitting Room. The high-end stereo system has a CD and tape player  with 
speakers in the Living Room and Master Suite. There is independent satellite TV in the 
Studio and Master Suite, a DVD player and VCR. Wireless high-speed 
internet serves the Studio and Living Room. A Vonage phone line is available to guests for 
free calls to the U.S. and Canada.  We keep a few DVD's and CD's 
for guests, but feel free to bring your own favorites. An iPod docking station is available in 
the Master Suite and for the main floor stereo system. 

Activities and Attractions

   Lounge on a capacious deck chair by the horizon pool or relax in one of the 
many art-filled rooms of this stylish home. The exclusive, gated enclave of La 
Punta is a paradise of more than 75 architecturally fascinating cliffside homes. 
Walking or jogging along the hand-laid stone roads is a passtime in itself. 
Guests here can use the excellent, lighted tennis courts and take a lesson 
from the resident pro. Sunsets are magnificent from the tennis club veranda.   
La Punta has a delightful private beach with luxurious bathroom and 
changing areas, a private lap pool, snack bar, beach volleyball, workout and 
weight room and individual beach palapas. Have the staff bring your picnic 
down to the beach at the time you desire for the perfect vacation lunch. 
   Just outside La Punta is the rambling and elegant Las Hadas resort 
complex, where many activities can be arranged. Las Hadas' championship 
golf course, "La Mantaraya" , is challenging and just 10 minutes away. The 
staff will plan an outing to the lush, 27 hole Grand Bay - Isla Navidad resort, or 
to exotic El Tamarindo - a spectacular course. 
   Deep-sea fishing, horseback riding, shopping and many other trips can all 
be arranged by our staff. Or, you might just sit in the sun, enjoying the perfect 
combination of ocean breezes, warm sunshine, and attentive service to your 
every need.

Vacation Rental Rates

Our rates are based upon a maximum of eight (8) people staying at the 
house, using the existing bedroom configurations.  For longer stays, or 
smaller groups, rates  may be negotiable.  The cost per night ranges from 
$500 to $1000 USD, depending on the season and the time remaining prior to 
the rental week.  Please inquire, we'd love to talk to you.
   
  The services of a bilingual, full time, live-in cook, houseman, maid and house 
manager are included. You may choose to rent a car or have us reserve a car and English 
speaking driver for your stay (at an additional cost), otherwise, cabs are plentiful. (All food 
shopping is done by our staff at no additional transportation cost to you.)   Our
delicious house Margaritas will be prepared for you when you arrive, and  a 
selection of appetizers,  as our "Welcome to our Home" gift to you. 
   Thereafter, our staff and you can plan upcoming meals and they  will be 
pleased to make reservations for you at one of the excellent (but not as good 
as our house!) resorts or restaurants in the Manzanillo Bay area. Our house 
manager will suggest and help arrange your activities.
