This is a gorgeous mountain setting, with a
classic mountain cabin that sits on the banks of Strawberry Creek,
less than one mile from charming downtown Idyllwild. This cozy
getaway features a huge, inviting fireplace, in a woodsy setting, with
flat/easy access in winter. The home sits
well back from the road to afford maximum privacy and occupies over a
half acre of fenced horse facilities, making this a very unique
property. And yes, there really is a white horse at White Horse Cabin
(27-year-old Stanlee), but he belongs to the owners and only visits
when they are in residence!) Guests with and without horses will enjoy
the home's unique privacy, yet close proximity to all that Idyllwild
has to offer. A huge deck overlooks the creek and forest, a perfect
spot to enjoy the forest and listen to rushing water. The cabin's
wood interior and huge fireplace provide the expected mountain
ambiance, yet the home provides all the modern conveniences. White
Horse lends itself to being a romantic honeymoon hide-away, a quiet
family retreat, or just a quick weekend refresher course in how to
enjoy life in a cozy cabin.
This home is much loved and used by its owners, thus providing
our guests an instant feeling of "home" instead of "rental." Idyllwild
is a very special place, with an atmosphere that is getting very hard
to find in Southern California. Guest comments routinely remark on
our home's ambiance, privacy, beautiful deck and creekside setting.

Private master with Queen, loft with twins has its own balcony, 2
sofa beds in living room, one bathroom. Beautiful huge fireplace
dominates the open living room/kitchen floorplan. Huge deck for
enjoyment of the outdoors with gas barbecue. Kitchen is fully
equipped for all your cooking needs, including dishwasher. This
property also accommodates up to 6 horses, with over a half acre
fenced, separate pipe stalls inside large cedar-shaded paddock and
small, three-sided barn/tack room. Ample parking with house set well
back off the road.

One mile from the cabin is charming downtown Idyllwild with numerous
shops, art galleries, movie theater, dog park, skate park, music and
entertainment venues, plus the convenience of two grocery stores,
pharmacy, post office, etc. The nearest fine restaurant is a one-
quarter mile walk from the cabin. Idyllwild is surrounded by
federal, state, and county parks offering endless opportunities for
hiking, rock climbing, horseback riding, and wildlife viewing. Lake
Hemet is 15 minutes away, offering shore and boat fishing. This is a
very family-friendly town. The kids can paint and fire ceramics at a
specialty shop downtown; there's always some fun/educational activity
for children and adults both at the nearby County-run Nature Center,
or they can explore the creek rushing right outside White Horse
Cabin's back door. Downtown movie theater shows first-run films; mom
and dad can enjoy live music every night of the week at Cafe Aroma;
our local Java Lounge (Idyllwild's answer to Starbucks) offers a
comfortably furnished hang-out with free WiFi, and our local museum
proudly displays Idyllwild's rich cattle/mining history.

Special midweek rate = $140/night Double occupancy,
minimum two-night stay. Some holidays require 3-4 nights minimum.
Weekends $155/night Double occupancy, Additional $15/per night for
extra people. Horses $15/night each.
Dog fee: $25 (absolutely no more than 2 dogs).
10% hotel tax on basic room rate as required by the County of Riverside.
