Vacation Rental Description

This is an old log cabin that was built in the 1930's and has much 
of the original furnishings and charm.  It is located on Long Lake 
which is located between Crystal Lake and Big Platte Lake on the 
Scenic Highway Drive (M-22).  The property is on 5 wooded acres, 
well off the road.  It has over 500 feet of private frontage. 

The lake is an all-sport lake with a very gradual sloping bottom 
which makes it very safe for swimmers of all ages.  The water warms 
up quickly in the spring and is very comfortable for swimming or 
wading.  It is ideal for young children that like to play safely on 
a warm sunny beach.

It is adjacent to the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore Park 
and is easy walking distance to the Old Indian Trail, which 
traverses the National Park dunescape to Lake Michigan.   

Vacation Rental Amenities

Not many amenities.  In fact we do not supply a TV or a DVD player 
or Internet Access.  If that is what you are looking for, this is 
not your place.  However if you want peace and quiet with 
comfortable sleeping for 14 in a rustic Old Log Cabin in the woods 
on a beautiful lake with dark starry skies you might want to check 
this out.

Functional kitchen with typical appliances including electric stove, 
modern refrigerator, toaster, coffee maker, Weber Grill, plenty of 
pots and pans and dishes.

Lakefront Amenities include the following:
50' dock, however water is shallow at end of dock, about 2' - 3' 
deep.  Not ideal for power boats.  Jet Ski's are prohibited by us. 
Some folks have them, but we don't like them and we ask that our 
guests refrain from bringing them on the lake.

3 kayaks
1 canoe

Activities and Attractions

There are many great activities both on the property and all around 
the region.  The area is famous for the following:
*Sleeping Bear Dunes National Park and many great activities 
sponsored by the Park.
*Swimming
*Hiking
*Fishing
*Dining - many great restaurants within a short drive and the famous 
Manitou Restaurant is only a 100-yard walk from the cabin.
*Tubing down the Platt River
*Kayaking and Canoeing
*Wineries
*Shopping & Antiquing at many great shops in Frankfort, Beulah & on 
the Leelanau Peninsula
*Drive in Theater at the Cherry Bowl in Honor, MI.
*Golf

Vacation Rental Rates

Spring Season: March thru May $950/wk., or $225/day with 3 day minimum.
Early Summer: Memorial Day - June 21: $1,400/wk.
Prime Summer: June 21 - August 16: $1,800/wk.
Late Summer: August 16 - September 13: $1,600/wk.
Fall Season: September 13 - November 1: $1,200/wk., or $225/day with 3 day minimum.
Winter Season: November - February: By special arrangement.
Rates include linen service, housekeeping, utilities and taxes.
Pets are welcome for an additional charge of $100/wk or $25/day for 3 day stays.
