This charming Adirondack style chalet is nestled in a private wooded setting yet less than a five-minute stroll to beautiful Loon Lake.

Enjoy lake rights to a lovely sandy beach with off-shore float and separate boat launch area. Swim or fish in the pristine waters of this large private lake or use our 15-foot canoe or 2 kayaks to explore the winding shoreline and secluded bays. Take in breathtaking mountain views while being entertained by the lake's namesakes - the magnificent loons. Hiking trails abound and part of the lakeshore and surrounding woods is untouched forest.

The chalet is warmly decorated Adirondack style with knotty pine on the main floor and spacious loft. In addition to a fully equipped kitchen with new stove, new refrigerator and a dishwasher, the main floor has a full bath, master bedroom with king size bed (or two twins) and a second bedroom with queen size bed. The loft has three twin beds. The living room boasts a fireplace and large picture window, satellite TV and DVD/VCR. A full screened in porch is a wonderful place for quiet reading, morning coffee or nighttime star gazing. You might even catch sight of a deer feeding at the edge of our large grassy lawn. A small, open deck off the screened in porch has a gas grill for your convenience or build a campfire in our fire ring and toast marshmallows. There is a picnic table and firewood is provided.

The lower level of the house can sleep 3-4 with a queen sofabed and a daybed with trundle. These additional beds, along with a second full bath with shower, make this a very comfortable vaction home for up to 8 people (maximum). The spacious lower level is also a great "family room" with a second TV, DVD/VCR as well as a foosball table and a variety of games.

Located 25 minutes north of the village of Saranac Lake, Loon Lake is only 35 minutes from the Olympic Village of Lake Placid. Here you can visit the Olympic Center and ski jumps, take a virtual ride on the bobsled and luge runs or hike along High Falls Gorge on the nearby Ausable River. A gondola ride up the world famous Whiteface Mountain is only a few minutes away. Golf, rock-climb, horseback ride or just relax and enjoy the incredible surroundings. And if you are so inclined, there is shopping and dining galore.
