Vacation Rental Description

   Comfortable 2 BR cottage in quiet setting with private lakefront on
Skaneateles Lake.
   Located 3 mi down west side of lake -- 10 min drive to Skaneateles
Village

Vacation Rental Amenities

   2 BR, each with comfortable double bed
   Living Room with TV, DVD player, radio, phone
   2 enclosed porches -- large porch with windows to enjoy lake view
or catch summer breeze; sliding door to shaded deck; deck has chimenea
for keeping warm or making 'smores on a cool evening. Other windowed
porch has sliding doors leading to grassy terrace area with gas grill
provided; also has bunk beds (can be put down as twins on request).
   Full kitchen; island with stools between kitchen and LR
   Cedar-paneled bathroom with stall shower
   Electric heat throughout
   Large lawn leads to stairs to upper level deck with extensive lake
view -- about 6 miles of lake including Skaneateles Village
(especially nice at night!). Stairs then lead to lower deck at
lakeside; large deck and dock are great for enjoying the sun, but a
portion of deck is shaded by the upper deck for the Hot days.
   (NOTE: If you have children, please be aware that once they go down the
stairs they will not be visible from the camp!)
   Mooring furnished if you have or rent a boat.

Activities and Attractions

   Swimming - Swim off shale beach or dock; Skaneateles Lake is the
main reservoir for Syracuse and the water is kept clean and clear.
   Boating/Fishing - Mooring provided; small boats, canoes, kayaks can
be drawn up on deck when not in use; lake is 18 miles long with
picturesque shoreline. Rentals available nearby. Public dockage is
provided at the Village. Can also take rides/dinner cruise on several
lake boats.
   Restaurants - Great pizzas, tasty homemade ice-cream, the best fish
sandwiches in Central NY, seriously good dinners at four very fine
restaurants in town (Rosalies; Mirbeau; Sherwood Inn; Krebs) plus the
1820 House and the Glen Haven on the east side. (Eating at home is
fun, too; be sure to pick up fresh corn and other vegetables at the
local farmstands!)
   Golf - 3 good 18-hole golf courses within 10 miles; also miniature
golf 15 min away.
   Music - The Skaneateles Music Festival features primarily chamber
music, with highly rated instrumental and vocal performers; it will
have its 29th year in August 2008
   Theater - The Merry-Go-Round theater in Auburn (1/2 hr drive) has
live shows of near-Broadway quality
   Biking - Most highways have extended shoulders for biking; a 40 mi
trip around the lake has been enjoyed by many serious bikers.
   Wineries - The Finger Lakes region has many wineries to visit and
enjoy tasting sessions.
   However -- don't forget to just plain RELAX!
