Vacation Rental Description

Close to the lake, nestled in the trees sits Fern Bank Cottage. Every
bedroom and living area in this spacious cottage is graced with a
spectacular lake view. From the cottage's ample outside decks is a
boulder staircase that leads to the lakes edge where guests will find
hammocks for lakeside napping; a private dock on deep water which is
perfect for swimming, fishing and boating; and a canoe for exploring
the lake and it's waterfalls. The cottage was designed to provide
perfect comfort for two, yet allows space for many extra guests.  For
this reason, our guests have found the cottage perfect for several
couples or families, yet very romantic for two.

Vacation Rental Amenities

Fernbank is equipped with air conditioning, washer & dryer, and a
wood burning stone fireplace. All linens are provided. Satellite
TV, DVD, VCR and a CD player are also available for those moments you
aren't busy enjoying the natural abundance around you. Fernbank
features large wraparound decks on the main and lower levels, with a
screened in living area and an open-air sitting and dining area. All
provide stunning lake views. Full kitchen includes all utensils &
tableware, refrigerator & freezer w/ice maker, electric range, toaster
oven, microwave, and dishwasher. There is also a gas grill located on
the main-level deck. There is a smaller refrigerator/freezer and a wet
bar located adjacent to the downstairs living area.

Activities and Attractions

In addition to the immediate opportunities for boating (a canoe is provided, with pontoons and 
powerboats available for rent), jet-skiing, water-skiing, swimming, sightseeing and fishing that the 
lake affords you. A ten minute drive into Cashiers or Highlands gives you a myriad of restaurant 
choices as well as local shopping and antiquing.  The area also boasts a great many beautiful hiking 
trails and waterfalls. There's a reason some call the area, 'the Land of Waterfalls', and don't 
forget, nearby rivers offer some of the best whitewater in the country, with commercial rafting 
companies available.
