pulling their
traps outside your window! This 8 year old, year-round cottage offers that and more. The wrap
around porch
with plenty of rocking chairs and every room in the cottage provide unequaled ocean views.
The cottage
sits on a bluff approximately 25 feet from the ocean at the end of a dead end lane. Very private
and quiet yet
just a short walk to a sandy beach and tennis courts and a 4 minute ride to shops, restaurants and
the ferry
dock. No smoking, please.
Peaks Island is just a 20 minute ferry ride from Portland - a city rich in culture and history
featuring first class
theatre, music, dining, museums, galleries and the like. The island is home to Maine's only two
Civil War
museums. You can rent kayaks and bikes, dine in top quality restaurants, explore WWII forts, and
take a
guided tour via a golf cart to learn about the island's unique past.
Vacation Rental Amenities
The cottage has 2 full baths, a fully equipped kitchen including dishwasher, microwave and gas
range,
washer/dryer, gas grill, phone, TV, dvd, vcr, cable, central heat, and beach chairs. Linens and
towels are
supplied.
Activities and Attractions
On-island activities include biking, kayaking, hiking, tennis, sailing, swimming, fairs, gift shops,
lobsterbakes on
the rocky coast, or just plain relaxing on the beach or porch with a good book. Off-island
attractions close by
include shopping at L.L. Bean and the shopping mecca of Freeport, exploring Portland's Old Port with
its myriad
shops, galleries and restaurants, visiting local historic sites like Portland Headlight, or the
amusements of the
Old Orchard Beach area.
Vacation Rental Rates
$2000 per week June and September; $2500 per week July and August.
Two week and monthly fees can be arranged.
Refundable security fee is $500.
