Casa La Ostra (The Oyster house) is brand new home with a very warm feeling to it. It's great for families that like to be at home away from home.

It was lavishly decorated by an interior designer with upscale furniture and has most amenities found in modern houses, including central air conditioning. And it's only a few steps to Playa Hermosa, one of the most consistent surf breaks in Costa Rica and home to many international surfing events.

Here you're away from the crowds of Jaco in the secure gated community of Hermosa Palms.

The house has a great outdoor area with plenty of seating. There is a gas grill, dining table and lounge chairs next to a delicious plunge pool. There are two foldable aluminum beach chairs available. If you would like a larger pool try the beach club's huge pool, only a few steps away. The community pool has a swimup bar with service occasionally available.

Downstairs, the living room's plush sofa and chairs are great for reunions. There is a wide-screen TV with DVD player and a stereo system with CD player, as well as cable internet with WiFi.

All bedrooms are upstairs. The Master bedroom boasts a King size bed, TV, a walk-in closet and a large bathroom with 2 sinks and oversized shower. The second bedroom has a Queen bed and the third bedroom has two Twin beds, great for kids. These two bedrooms share a large bathroom with separate bathtub and shower.

Situated on the third floor, the sundeck is excellent to achieve that perfect tan in total privacy or just to gaze at the sunset or stars with your favorite drink.

Screened sliding glass doors allow you to enjoy the ocean breeze comfortably. Black out curtains let you sleep those extra hours beyond sunrise (usually around 5:30 am). If you wish, ceiling fans will let you live without air conditioning.

Hermosa Palms is located a 5 minute drive south of the surf town of Hermosa. The road is paved all the way. Hermosa has lively restaurants and bars where surfers and locals hang together. There are some mom and pop grocery stores. For more variety you can head to the tourist town of Jaco, only a 15 minute drive away.

Only a few minutes away is the National Wild Life Refuge of Playa Hermosa, whose main purpose is to protect the Olive Ridley sea turtles. The egg laying season is July to December.
