Vacation Rental Description

Casa Mirador has two bedrooms and space for a maximum of four people. The master bedroom has a queen  
bed and a private terrace overlooking the sea, jungle and coves below. The second bedroom has two  
twin beds with two large windows, one with a jungle view and one with a bay window seat and partial  
view of the ocean. Even the shower has an ocean view. 
 
The house sits on a cliff overlooking Punta Quepos, the Pacific Ocean and Manuel Antonio National  
Park. It was designed by an award-winning architect to provide stunning views from every window and  
terrace.  
 
The house was built in a European style. It is simple and elegant in its construction and  
furnishings. However, it is not suitable for those who require lavish amenities. There is no cable  
TV, no CD players, and no air-conditioning systems, although it's not really necessary due to  
excellent ventilation (the houses are located at the top of a large hill) and ceiling fans. Casa  
Mirador provides a place to relax and enjoy nature.

Vacation Rental Amenities

One awakens to the exotic songs of rainforest birds and the sounds of the rolling waves of the sea  
below. One can often see toucans, monkeys and a two-toed sloths from the various terraces in both  
houses. You can have your morning coffee on the terrace as you take in your spectacular view of the  
Quepos fishermen heading out to sea and or check out the local birds. It's a short ten to fifteen  
minute walk downhill to Espadilla Beach below the houses and an additional twenty minute walk along  
the beach to the entrance of the National Park. 
 
House Facilities/Amenities  
 
-The houses will be completely set up for your arrival, save food and drink.  
 
-The house has a telephone in the living room area. If internet access is required, please inquire. 
 
-The house has a kitchen fully equipped with a stove, refrigerator, toaster oven, blender, coffee  
pot, toaster, dishes, pots, pans, glasses, etc.  
 
-The house has one full bathroom and an outside shower as well.  
 
-There is hot water throughout the house, including the outside showers.  
 
-Beds are ready and made. Sheets and towels will be changed around every 5 days. If you stay for a  
week, it will be done around mid-week.  
 
-Beach towels are provided as well. 
 
-Novel exchange along with access to guide and local wildlife books. 
 
-Laminated wildlife identification cards. 
 
 
Caretakers 
 
Bismark and Gloria are our caretakers and their house is on the same plot of land as Mirador and  
Voladora. Close enough if you need anything, far enough away to ensure your privacy. Their daughter,  
Ivania, is proficient in booking tours and can arrange all the details for you if you wish. Gloria  
also has a side business (separate from the houses) doing a bit of personal laundry for the guests  
on site for a per kilo fee if you find yourself needing clean clothes. You will just need to ask.  
They are very helpful and extremely nice.

Activities and Attractions

The Manuel Antonio National Park area offers some of the best beaches on Costa Rica's Pacific coast  
for swimming and snorkeling. Within the area, there is much to enjoy; bird watching, hiking,  
kayaking, horseback riding, and boat trips for fishing or to watch dolphins. The area is home to  
over 353 species of birds. Howler, white-faced and mono titi monkeys, two-toed sloths, coatimundis  
and raccoons frequent the beaches in and outside the Park. 
 
Walk to Restaurants/Bars. Casa Mirador is located on the road that connects Quepos and Manuel  
Antonio. It is approximately 4 kilometers from the town of Quepos in the Central Pacific Zone and  
about 3 kilometers from Manuel Antonio National Park. You can walk to many different restaurants and  
bars from the house and there are convenient taxi and bus services as well. The house also has a  
parking lot should you wish to rent a car. As such, a car is convenient, but not absolutely  
necessary as long as you don't mind walking up and down a few hills.  
 
Walk to the Beach. The main beach is about a 15 minute walk down the dirt road from the house. You  
can drive it as well, but I'd recommend a 4 wheel drive to do so. There is a nice place to swim (and  
park) at the bottom of the road. You can also choose to walk down the beach (about 15-20 minutes) to  
Playa Espadilla - where they rent chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards, give surfing lessons,  
restaurants are located, etc. This is also where the Manuel Antonio National Park is located. From  
there you can take a taxi or buses back to the house if you don't wish to walk back. Or you can  
choose to walk to Playa Biesanz on the other side of Punta Quepos - about 15 minutes as well. It is  
a small protected bay good for swimming and also has some rocks out in the bay for snorkeling. You  
can see both Playa Espadilla and Biesanz Bay from the house.  
 
View Wildlife from the House. You can see quite a lot of wildlife from the house. Our caretaker,  
Bismark, is extremely thoughtful about the plant life surrounding the houses and it is preserved for  
the animals that live in the area. As such, they tend to be frequent visitors.

All rentals must be paid in US dollars. Our rates are a flat fee and include cleaning and taxes.  
 
Fifty percent (50%) of the rental fee must be paid in advance to confirm reservation. 
 
We accept personal checks, cashier's checks, credit cards and travelers checks.
