Casa Mariposa Blanca or House of the White Butterfly was once part of the XVI century Franciscan
monastery, belonging to the Cathedral of Cuernavaca. This Cathedral was one of the first cathedrals
erected in the New Spain by the Spanish conquistadors.
Many original features of the colonial times are present in this house, from floors, stairs to
niches, tiles, doors and chimneys. Family Treviño (present owners) have maintained the charm of
this house by furnishing it with typical Mexican furniture, handicrafts, paintings, antiques and
lots of flower pots and greenery.
This house has great view from the roof terrance and also has plenty of balconies that look on to
the small park infront of the house.

The house is located in a very secure area of the city. Ideally located, right in the middle of
downtown Cuernavaca.
It counts with phone (local calls are free), cable TV, access to internet broadband.
All linens and towels are provided. There is a washing machine and drying area on the top floor.
Kitchen has gas cooker, oven, fridge-freezer, microwave, coffee maker, cutlery, plates, pots and
cooking utensils.
There is a large supermarket called “Comercial Mexicana” two blocks away, following down avenue
Morelos. There is a small bus station one block away (corner of calle Netzahualcoyotl and calle
Abasolo) this bus station is called Pullman Centro and has services to Mexico City’s southern bus
station: Taxqueña.

Most cultural attractions of downtown Cuernavaca are just a few steps away, such as: Cathedral and
the complex of old churches, Brady Museum, Cortez Palace, Museum of Cuahunahuac, Borda Gardens and

de las Artes and plenty of restaurants, shops and cafes nearby.
