activities and attractions in Cape May New Jersey
So much to do in our lovely sleepy town! Outside grilling, long bike rides, building beach castles, shell collecting, and jogging in our quiet, restful neighborhood. Sleep on the outside deck watching the stars.
Quiet, pristine Delaware bay beach is across the street. Great for picnics and watching the glorious sunsets.
The beach in the Villas is the Delaware bay (not the ocean) and it is right across the street accessed by a very short path. Bay water here doesn't get deep and can be murky at times. Free.
The ocean at Cape May beaches is only 12 minutes and 5.3 miles away. Need to buy beach tags. Very easy drive.
Wildwood ocean beaches are only 8.6 miles (17 minutes) away. A really fun boardwalk and water park are located in Wildwood.
Townbank beaches (next small town south of Villas) are free and you can sail your boat there. Townbank is only about 2 miles away. These beaches are accessible on that main road (Millman Avenue in front of my house) that follows along the bay heading to the ferry. Free. Good parking.
Ferry State park: swim at a great beach at the Ferry beach- free- and only 3 miles away from my house. Very clear, shallow warm water for a distance and great for small kids. This is my favorite b/c it's free, really large, and has great fishing. Has portapotties. You watch the boats and ferries going out into the bay. No crowds. New large shady gazebo. I always take my guests here. Free parking.
