You will not find a more perfect setting than "Babbling Brook", a charming 2 BR 2BA log cabin.
The cabin is conveniently located on a quiet lane one-half mile off scenic Hwy. 194 South in Todd,
NC just minutes from West Jefferson and Boone. The road leading to the cabin has several mountain
streams that meander along side the native Rhododendrons and wild flowers creating a "storybook"
setting. The property has been beautifully landscaped with Hemlocks, Fraser Firs and features a
babbling stream that flows directly by the cabin.

Sit in the rocking chairs on the covered porch and enjoy the peaceful sounds of the stream as it
winds its way down over the rocks. There's also a picnic table beside the stream where you and your
family can have a picnic. For the nature lover, several bird feeders and houses have been added to
attract various birds.

The all wood interior has been decorated with antiques and colorful quilts yet has all the modern
conveniences you would expect including a ceramic tiled Jacuzzi in the master bath. Spend a quiet
evening by the fireplace watching the large flat panel TV with cable or you may want to listen to
music on the CD player. After spending a day in the High Country, relax and unwind in the brand new
hot tub. The cabin has a full kitchen and sleeps 7. The loft has a foosball table and a TV/DVD
with several movies to choose from. The master bedroom also has a TV with cable. Babbling Brook
has central air conditioning so you'll be sure to stay cool during the summer months. As a courtesy
to our guests, "High Speed Wireless Internet Access" is now available, so don't forget to
bring your laptop.

The Blue Ridge Parkway is only 10 minutes away, where you can drive to enjoy the majestic views of
the Blue Ridge Mountains. Visit nearby Mount Jefferson or New River State Park and enjoy the
natural beauty of the mountains and river. Tube or canoe the New River and enjoy nature at it's
finest. Visit the historical Todd General Store where you can often hear bluegrass music performed
by some of the areas talented artists.

West Jefferson is less than 10 minutes away and is home to North Carolina's only cheese plant.
Sample cheese and see it made from the viewing room. You can purchase cheese along with other
products at Ashe County Cheese Store located across the street from the plant. The quaint downtown
district has several stores and restaurants for your shopping and dining pleasure. While here,
you'll truly enjoy the slower pace of living that West Jefferson offers.

Boone, home of Appalachian State University is only 20 minutes away. There you'll find several
unique stores and restaurants to shop and dine at including the renown Daniel Boone Inn Restaurant.
While in the area, be sure to stop by The Ham Shoppe in Valle Crucis and enjoy one of their famous
handcrafted sandwiches or homemade desserts. Other nearby attractions include the Mast General
Store, Blowing Rock, Tweetsie Railroad, Grandfather Mountain and the local ski resorts.
