One Free Night - Breath-taking view Studio in Tambor

The Best of "Both" Worlds... enjoy the tranquility of the mountains and this gorgeous view and still have easy access to the Tambor beach from the main street in town.

The property is located in the mountains above the small fishing village of Tambor at the tip of the Nicoya Peninsula and the view from the property is breathtaking. There is a complete view of the Bay of Tambor from the property. Four-wheel drive vehicle is needed as part of the road up to the property is gravel and could be slippery.

The studio building is separated from the main house, where the owners live, by a driveway. The studio is on the second floor, there is a washer and dryer in the building on the first floor. A spiral stair leads to the upstairs studio. The apartment would not be suitable for a child under 12 due to the open-ness of the spiral staircase.
Local woods were used in the interior and exterior of the building. The high vaulted ceiling and the floor in the bedroom/sitting room are made of local teak. All cabinets were made from beautiful Costa Rican wood as well. The windows and sliding doors have screens and glass.  The main house and the studio building are only four years old.

SMOKE-FREE DWELLING - SMOKING PERMITTED OUTSIDE ON GROUNDS.

The grounds have an infinity pool and a tropical garden to enjoy. Animal life on the property includes an occasional iguana, pizotes, several different types of birds, howler monkeys, and our dear Costa Rican dog. Recently a family of approximately 26 howler monkeys made their way through the property for a few hours enjoying some of the green foliage.

The town of Tambor is a ten-minute drive down the road and the beach is accessible from the main street in Tambor. The beach is a three-mile stretch of dark sand and is very tranquil. The ocean is warm all year long and the waves are gentle.

In Tambor there are restaurants we can recommend, a market, a Catholic Church, car rental companies, a souvenir shop and a pharmacy. An ATM is a five-minute drive from central Tambor.

How to get here? Fly to Tambor. Tambor has an airstrip and flights arrive daily from San Jose. Airlines servicing Tambor are Sansa and Nature Air. The flight from San Jose is a short 35 minutes.

Or you can drive (4-wheel needed for the mountain road to the house)to Tambor. The drive from the San Jose Airport area to the ferry in Puntarenas is approximately 2 hours. Then a 1 hour 10 minute ferry boat ride to Paquera. The drive from Paquera to Tambor is about 45 minutes.

In town there are jetski rentals, quad rentals, fishing excursions, and tours available through the all-inclusive hotel in Tambor. Beautiful 9-hole golf course right in Tambor.  The towns of Montezuma, Mal Pais, Playa Carmen, Santa Teresa, and Cobano are all less than an hour's drive and offer surfing, zipline, waterfall, restaurants, banks, and shops.

The "deal" runs through October 31, 2009 - stay seven nights at our studio and the seventh night is FREE. 

We charge 50% of the full amount of your stay at the time you book. This deposit is refundable, minus 15% of the TOTAL rent, if you cancel within 30 days of your scheduled arrival. The remaining 50% is due 30 days prior to your scheduled arrival. If this 50% balance is not received within 30
days of your arrival date, the property will be available to other parties. There are no refunds within 30 days of your scheduled arrival.
