Golf
Sea Trail offers three championship courses designed by Dan Maples, Rees Jones and Willard Byrd. In
addition to great golf, we offer two clubhouses with fully stocked golf shops, lounges and snack
bars. Our full service restaurant, Magnolias Fine Food & Spirits, is located in the Jones/Byrd
clubhouse.
While each course is distinctively different in character and playability, all three courses
consistently garner widespread acclaim for their imaginative design, lush landscapes, challenging
play and breathtaking scenery.
A traditional southern course framed by twisted ancient oaks and tall Carolina pines, the par 72
Maples Course is consistently regarded as one of the designer’s finest. The medium-length, accuracy-
demanding Maples Course features five holes that wind along scenic Calabash Creek, along with
elaborate landscaping, undulating greens and refurbished bunkers. The Jones Course is a
straightforward layout featuring generous mounded fairways bordered by scenic lakes and towering
trees. A perennial favorite among residents and guests, the Jones Course is an extraordinary golf
experience. The Byrd Course completes Sea Trail’s triumvirate of world-class golf. Reflecting Byrd's
imaginative style of design, each hole of this par 72 design requires a distinctively different
approach, thanks to a constricting tree line, challenging greenside bunkering system and lakes
ranging from 14-20 acres.
Swimming Visit the Village Activity Center and enjoy the lush tropical setting of our outdoor pool
and whirlpool, during the summer months. You may also have a light lunch at the Oasis Pool Bar
featuring deli sandwiches, frozen drinks and more! For those chilly days we also have a heated indoor
pool and whirlpool. Massages are also available.
Restaurant Magnolias Fine Food & Spirits, located at the Jones/Byrd clubhouse, serves breakfast,
lunch and dinner.
Shopping The Village at Sunset Beach, where a number of specialty shops and restaurants await you. Or
venture out on your own and just 8 miles north of Sea Trail you'll find the Town of Shallotte where
you can take in a movie at Coastal Cinemas or visit East Gate Plaza to do some more shopping: Belk,
Friedman's, Office Depot, Home Depot and more!
You can also travel to nearby Myrtle Beach home to Barefoot Landing, Broadway at the Beach, Colonial
Mall and the Tanger Outlet Malls.
Sunset Beach Just three miles in length, Sunset Beach is the southern most of the Brunswick Island
beaches. The only link to the mainland is a one lane pontoon bridge. Established at the southernmost
tip of the state, Sunset Beach is the smallest and quietest of three barrier islands which together,
make up the modestly famed South Brunswick Islands. An uncommon coastal scene, this small sequestered
island is crowned with a naturally wide, gently sloping, white sand beach and a shroud of undisturbed
sand dunes. This unadulterated setting is a natural habitat and nesting ground for the abundant coastal
wildlife, including the endangered Loggerhead Sea Turtle and beloved Wood Storks.
