This private home was completed in 2005. It is located on scenic Long Cove, on the water down a 1/2
mile private road, on a four-acre wooded lot.
The property has 350 feet of shore line with the house about 75 feet from the high tide mark. A small
stream runs down one side of the property and empties into a pretty inlet to the right of the house.
The 1400 sq. ft. house is built on an open plan. Downstairs holds a large family room/kitchen/dining
area, and a combined master bedroom/bathroom/laundry suite that opens on to a deck. The
bedrooms, kitchen and living areas look out on tidal Long Cove in the direction of the sunrise that,
from the queen size bed in the master bedroom, is absolutely uplifting, and awakening. Upstairs holds
a large bedroom with two single and one double bed. Please inquire about our website for additional
photos and information.
This is a new house with all new appliances. The floors are hardwood and tile throughout with knotty
pine trim. The kitchen includes all utensils, plates, cups, bowls, pots, etc., refrigerator, stove,
dishwasher and microwave.
Bedrooms include a queen size bed in the master bedroom, two single and one double bed in the
upstairs bedroom, all with linens, pillows and blankets.
Electronic amenities include a TV with a DVD/VCR player and satellite TV service, radio/CD player,
local phone service and high-speed internet access via DSL with wireless connectivity.
Outside, a propane grill is present as is a 12 foot dingy with oars.
A screened porch provides a relaxing bug-free outdoor environment
for the evenings.
Long cove is an attractive area for kayaking, clamming, fishing and small boating. Clams can be dug
at low tide if one purchases a $2.00 clamming license at the Town Hall.
The town of Deer Isle is about one mile from the house. The largest town on the island is Stonington,
about a ten minute drive. Stonington is a center of commerce for the island, serving as a source
of Deer Isle granite and lots of seafood. In both Deer Isle and Stonington, fresh seafood and family-
style restaurants can be found as well as bicycle and kayak rentals and a host of local businesses.
Two grocery stores are about ten minutes away by car.
Haystack Mountain School of Crafts is on the island. Writers, photographers and musicians often share
their talents at public events. There are twenty art and craft galleries that present work produced
by some of the most accomplished artists in the country. More than a dozen antique, gift and book
shops are on the island.
Acadia National Park is about a 50 minute drive from the property. The nearest hospital is in the
town of Blue Hill about twenty minutes away. There is also it's namesake, Blue Hill, which lends
itself to a good hiking challenge. Cruises are available that take visitors around the islands as
well as to Vinalhaven, North Haven and Isle au Haut.
