vacation rental description
A beautiful 2800 s/q ft beach house at the edge of town, located in
the north of the Yucatan state,
20min. east of Progreso or 45 min. from Merida with mature coconut
palms, palapa, and ocean front.
It's fully furnished with A/C,ceiling fans, cooling off pool, T/V
and DVD player, roll shutters,
security bars and beach view from every room. You will enjoy an open
floor plan, from Mexican tile
floors and authentic decor to sliding glass doors where you are
surrounded by the beauty of the sea and the charm of local Yucatan
atmosphere.The living/dining area is spacious and opens to a covered
patio overlooking our pool, palapa and mostly private beach.
Upstairs 3 bedrooms: first bedroom has 1 king-size bed with bathroom
and terrace to ocean view,
second has 1 queen-size bed with bathroom and terrace to ocean, the
third has 2 single beds and 1
queen-size bed with bathroom and terrace.
On the main floor we have 2 more bedrooms both with 1 queen-size bed
in each. The living room has a pull out couch that also sleeps 2.
The kitchen is fully equipped with fridge, stove & oven, microwave,
cooking utensils, toaster, blender, coffee maker, dishes, glassware,
cookware, silverware, linens & towels.
The main floor area also has a laundry room with washer and dryer,
bar area with stools, bar fridge and CD portable stereo.
There's a dining area with a very large table that seats 10
comfortably (there's 3 more seats at bar stools) a sitting area with
LCD TV/DVD, one bathroom, and a beautiful patio out to the pool, palapa
and out to the beach.

activities and attractions in Telchac Puerto Yucatan
The village of Telchac Puerto is about 1 km from the house. You can
walk to the center plaza along the beach (about 2 km), or walk or
drive the main road into town.
There are small markets with fruits and veggies, a bakery, a high-
speed internet caf�, liquor stores, a hardware store, restaurants and
other small markets.
You can fill your day without leaving this location with seashell
picking, sun bathing, swimming, fishing, reading, walking, relaxing
and nature watching (birds, butterflies, crabs, turtles, iguanas
& gechos). You may also explore the many villages in the area.
5 minutes from our house:
- snorkeling or fishing charters just go to the local harbor
(Puerto Abrigo).
- new golf and country club being built, may be ready for an 18
hole round within 6 mths.
10 minutes from our house:
- mayan pyramids of IXCambo.
- Flamingo and alligator siteseeing.
- Dzemul flamingo sanctuary and mayan village.
- mangrove trip at San Cristanto (cenote).
20 minutes from our house:
- Dzilam de Bravo is a boat trip to an ecological reserve.
- The port city of Progreso is where the cruise ships dock,
with a 6 km long pier. Along the Gulf in Progreso, you may walk the
Malecon and enjoy a variety of shops and restaurants. Progreso
for everything you need on a vacation, bars, restaurants, shopping,
banks, hospital. Cruise ships dock 3 times/wk so there's more
shopping on those days.
Less than 1 hour away:
- Dzibichalt'n Mayan pyramids, museum of mayan culture and
deep underground water reservoir
(cenote).
- You may choose to spend a day in the lovely city of Merida
(45 minutes), especially the historic center on Sundays when local
artisans display in the main square. Merida, the capital city
of the Yucatan (Pop. 1 million), offers beautiful colonial
architecture, parks, museums, restaurants and shopping, and if you
must, Wal Mart, Costco, JC Penney, Sears,fast food, etc. It's a
beautiful culture experience to go downtown with orchestra shows, old
buildings etc. Check the magazine "Yucatan Today" for lots of things
to do and see in Merida.
Less than 2 hours away:
- Flamingos mangroves at Celestun. Most abundant amounts of
flamingoes in the peninsula.
- Mayan Pyramids of Chichenitza and Uxmal with light and sound
show in the Pyramids of Oxkintik with the famous mayan labyrinth.
- natural areas like the Grutas or Caverns of Lolt'n,
Balankanch'n or Calcehtok and the colonial sites of Tecoh, Man' and
Oxcutzcab.
Having a car will make your stay more enjoyable and allow you to see
more sites. There is a bus station in Telchac with a route passing
our house at the road (100 mtrs away) that goes to Progreso
twice per day. From the bus station in Telchac (2 km away) you could
bus to any desired destination.
