This three bedroom three bath home is absolutely beautiful...inside and out. Words cannot describe the tranquility and peace you feel while vacationing in this gorgeous home. The decor and color have a Pottery-Barn look and feel. The kitchen is a cook's dream...well-appointed and wonderfully stocked. There are flat-screen TV's in every bedroom with a Blue Ray DVD player and DVR with expanded channels in the living room.

This beautiful private residence is just a short walk to an exquisite stretch of beach, where you can read, relax, recharge, and remember how to breathe, it won't get much better than Cape Palms. This areas low density of homes gives you plenty of private beach to enjoy. Further up the Cape the density increases and the beaches become more crowded.

Two Palms, Cape San Blas

We had a wonderful week at the beach. Loved the area and the house was clean, comfortable, and nicely decorated. The main living area and kitchen were on the third floor and that took a little getting used to. Loved the private pool and the neighborhood was quiet. We especially enjoyed the landscaping and trees around the grounds. We would definitely vacation here again.

Recommended for: age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, pet-friendly, romantic getaway

We loved the home and it's location. It was close to Port St Joe for restaurants and groceries. We loved the wrap around porches that had a view of the ocean. Thank you, John and Dawn for attention to details.

Recommended for: pet-friendly, romantic getaway

Would not recommend , be sure to bring paper products and extra towels. We got 1 towel pp!

Well lets start off with upon our arrival ( after a 9 hour drive) we are hungry , tired and go to fix some food that we picked up at the grocery store (30 min away) and found no paper towels or napkins. In addition to only having 1 dish towel and 1 rag!!!
No cloth napkins either, there was nothing.
The tv did not function and there were hairs ( from someone's body ) on our sheets.

Now let me back to the email exchange prior to our arrival.

Email: Hi Dawn,

We are checking in on Thursday and wanted to make sure the bedding/ bedspreads / shams are all laundered before our arrival.

Also will there be towels available?

The response:
Cape Palms is ready for your visit with towels.

The response was vague , but ok I am assuming the bedding was laundered.
My husband and I travel often and all over the world and we are aware the bedspreads and shams seldom get laundered and we are happy to provide our own in addition to anything else we may need ie " paper products ".

Now we have stayed in many VRBO/ Vacation rentals and never not even once have there not been paper products.

About the bedding , I phoned John about the master bed' s linens, bedspread and shams as they had a funk to them in addition to hairs , lil black ones.
We had to sleep in a different room. luckily there were 3 bedrooms and our guest did not arrive til the following day.

We could have laundered these ourself , but there was dirty laundry in the washer and again no soap was provided.

Johns response was he would be by in the morning as he was just getting back in town.
He shows up inspected the sheets and said " it is not our Policy to provide paper products or launder the bedspread / shams after each guest" this is after my specific email and his vague response.
Then proceeded to argue with me about what was said.

We just wanted a resolution.

The bottom line he was dishonest the home was not ready and with proper communication we could have adjusted had we known the home was not well equipped for guest.
You are required to clean dishes upon departure , yet there was not dish soap available to wash dishes by hand.
No privacy, the window coverings in the MB are see through.

As noted in the " book " they often drive by and see what you are doing. Ie "don't leave windows open while the air is on"
How would they know, the home cannot be seen from the road?

Owners response: We take great pride in providing a clean, well-appointed home. We try to prepare our guest the best we can before their stay to avoid any unhappy surprises. Our Rental Agreement has a paragraph labeled “Items to Bring” where we suggest the guest bring paper towels, napkins and dish soap among other things. Cape Palms is cleaned between every guest’s stay and clean sheets and pillow cases are provided for every bed and one towel and wash cloths for the maximum number of guests (10) per the Rental Agreement. We only launder bed spreads and pillow shams as needed.
We never argue with our guests and do our best to meet their needs in a timely manner. In this case we removed the "clean sheets" (stray hairs even after sheets are laundered can happen) and we also removed and washed the comforter and shams (these had also been laundered within the last couple of renters). I am disappointed that our guest had such an unhappy experience at Cape Palms. John and Dawn
