It was very obvious from the beginning of renting from William that he really did not want to rent his house out. He made our stay here very uncomfortable and found every excuse to get more money from my husband and myself. The house is listed as sleeping 7 people. In the contract I stated that my daughters would be staying here too. Once he deposited not only the full rental price but my deposit he then wanted to charge me more for use of linens. Linens were allegedly included in the rental price. Nowhere in the listing description does he state that he charges more if have you used all 6 beds. Kind of funny isn’t it? And technically his 3rd bedroom is in the basement and there are only 6 beds; not 7. I have to add too that the bathroom down in the basement has no door. Very weird indeed.
In addition, I left the house immaculate! I am that kind of person. I even brought all my own towels. I knew this guy was going to find every reason not to give me back my full deposit. I was right. According to William he said I did not put the pot lids in the right place; he found hair in the sink etc.. Let me tell you...I left the house super clean! I just knew he would find fault with something and sure enough he kept part of my deposit for cleaning issues. He also did not give me back my deposit for up to 2 full weeks. Why???
Just be forewarned if you choose to rent this property. The man is very manipulative and will find an issue with just about anything.
My husband and I have rented many houses in the past. This is the first time I have ever felt compelled to write a negative review. I would never rent from him again and I would advise steering you clear of it too! Rent someone else’s house. You will have less headaches and worry.
