Needs TLC

Debbie (Buffalo, NY)
Review submitted: August 4, 2011   Date of arrival: July 28, 2011

The area was amazing. Very quiet and very peaceful.

I do think people read these reviews to get an idea of the place they will stay. I've read the other reviews and they have helped me. The thing is, it doesn't seem like the reviews really touch on what is important. The surrounding area really is lovely. The cabin is average. It could be a lot nicer with more TLC.

We have traveled alot and it seems some owners just know what it takes to make your stay comfortable. In this case I would say that many ammenities were lacking. We were really looking forward to the deck everyone mentions. It was not quite as lovely as we had hoped. It was full of debris, which we tried to sweep away ourselves, the plants in pots surrounding it were pretty much all dead, we tried flipping the cushions but we were still not "at peace" sitting out there. The barbques that are included were dirty and covered with webs. I wouldn't use them. It could really use a good cleaning.

I think people need to know, the front step was rotted and falling in. One of our party stepped on it carrying in groceries, they could have gotten hurt. Doors stuck and were hard to open, the DVD player we spent 45 min. trying to trace the wires and get working? It never did, so we couldn't watch the movies we brought. We did alert the owner to these problems, so? who knows, by the time the next party stays there, the corrections may have been made?

For this cabin, I think they are charging for the area surrounding, but not your actual accomadations. I know it is a cabin in the woods, but it is priced a little high for what it is. The woods were lovely. We enjoyed our stay. I just think it could be so much more if they took the time to update it and make the repairs needed.

Hope this review helps someone understand exactly what they will be getting. An average accomadation, in a beautiful place.

Wonderul relaxing getaway

mg3530 (Pittsburgh)
Review submitted: July 14, 2011   Date of arrival: July 9, 2011

What a week. Just what my friends and I needed. It was so relaxing sitting on the back porch with our coffee I can't even put it into words. The peace and quiet was amazing. The only down side, which they are working on, is the air conditioning. They even attempted a fix while we were there. Which meant wonderful customer service to me. Very attentive to my fear that it was going to be just too hot with only one airconditioner in the living room. It was only a fear it turned out. Even with temps in the high 80s during the night it cooled down enough with the windows open that is was fine. And I am a professed airconditioning freak. LOVE IT!

Something for everyone... 2 of us hiked the LHHT while the other 3 sat by the pool. But at night we still sat down for dinner together. I even managed a massage and facial at the spa. Which is truly one of the best in the country.

Tricia was amazingly patient in dealing with me and my constant change of plans, too. Thank you Tricia. They all voted yes to returning next summer. I almost never leave feed back .. especially when it's positive because I know it will contribute to higher prices and less space, but I really can't keep this one to myself. It would really be unfair. I'll just have to plan ahead next year and TRY and get my friends all on the same schedule.

Ski/Spa Getaway

lynnmark (Ford City, PA)
Review submitted: January 4, 2011   Date of arrival: December 27, 2010

"The Cabin" is a 2 bedroom condo that is fully equipped for a relaxing getaway. Located between the ski slopes and the spa, we were able to enjoy a winter escape in a comfortable setting. Fully stocked kitchen gave me an opportunity to cook breakfast in the mornings or just heat up snacks at night. A very warm, comfortable, well-maintained property in a great location for spoiling yourself.
