My wife Suzanne and I stayed at Casa del Jardin Jan. 28 to Feb. 03, 2010. Our time there exceeded all expectations..
Doug and Kerry have created an oasis within the city and the Casa itself has all the amenities one requires for a self-contained unit.We appreciated the complete kitchen facilites that allowed us to cook for ourselves if and when we were too tired to treck off to a restaurant after long days of site-seeing. In fact, on our arrival, our hosts had stocked the pantry for us - the fresh papaya was amazing and a cold beer very much appreciated.
Doug and Kerry were always there to answer our many questions. Our privacy was always respected.
The Casa is situated in a very quiet neighbourhood removed from the hustle and bustle of la Centro. We opted for a rental car in order to do do daytime excursions outside the city so public transit was never tested.
Only one regret. Our stay at La Casa was too short.
Thanks Doug and Kerry for introducing us to Merida and La Casa del Jardin.

Just what we needed

This was our first visit to Merida, and to Mexico. The setting was ideal — residential, but still close to everything. (We did keep a rental car, but could have done it all on Merida's major bus system.) And the two guys who rehab'd this place, Doug and Kerry, were awesome hosts. (Yet we had ample privacy.) Thanks, guys!
