place to be a vacation home and allow you/us the most time to relax
and play. There is plenty of room to spread out, expecially when the
studio apartment is included, and few things to worry about.

Beautiful large non smoking single FAMILY HOME on the waterfront of
the quiet Peninsula of Duck Lake. This is our second home and have
too many obligations to fully enjoy beautiful Traverse
City/Interlochen area. We would like to offer others (YOU) the
chance to experience this area at its finest.
The house is located on beautiful Duck lake Peninsula--DIRECTLY on
100 foot of private beach with your own dock to sunbathe or tie up
your boat and Jet skis. This is very clean 2000 acre all sports lake
with plenty of room to play, ski or fish. The lake has plenty of
fish and even a couple of ninety plus foot holes to try and find "a
big one", or some weed beds where the bass like to hide. The home is
located on the peninsula, which is very relaxing and child friendly.
The house has four separate bedrooms,living room, family room,
dining/play area and even and extra in-law apartment --if you have
to bring them along! There is a real wood burning fireplace, and a
campfire pit by the water. The place has just undergone a complete
rennovation, and has a very "comfortable" atmosphere as we and our
young kids use it frequently.

The house is almost fully stocked with goodies. There is plenty of
room for your items and toys. If you happen to forget something, it
will likely be found here. We do ask that anything you "borrow", be
replaced when you have time to run to the store. Out the lakeside
slider, you will find a screened in porch with an extra large picnic
table that seats 10 easily....this is where we choose to eat most of
our meals during late spring to early fall and a huge yard/sand box
in which to play. The waterfront is sandy and easily swimmable,
complete with your own dock for the boaters or kayakers. The private
boatlaunch is located just a few hundred feet away and has a new
cement base, and plenty of room to put your boat in.
There are many sights around the lake including eagles, loons, and
all kinds of fish and wildlife. Flowers abound our home and area.
Just down the road is the peninsula's park, which has a renovated
TENNIS COURT, shuffleboard, playground, covered pavillion and a
baseball field!
Please note:
For your convenience, a bed listing is included: two queens, two
fulls (part of bunk) and three twins (also part of bunk beds). There
is a pack n play portable crib. So there is plenty of room to spread
out and Relax.

The activites in the area are numerous. We are ideally located 7
minutes from the Interlochen Academy for the Arts and state park, 15
minutes from the Mall (just in case it rains!),2 movie complexes,
and 20-25 minutes from downtown Traverse City, near Sleeping Bear
Dunes, Platte river, Lake Michigan, many (27) golf courses, dozens
of restaurants Crystal Mountain skiing, snowmobile trails, and the
wine country. The list could go on and on... If you don't want to
venture out, the loop around the peninsula is almost exactly 2
miles. It is a wonderful walk, rollerblade, jog, bike ride or
stroll. The lake's temperature is one of the warmer ones in the
area. Skiing, boating, wake boarding, etc are allowed on this all
sports lake. Relax, you're on vacation!
Our cottage WILL have sand toys, swim toys, a variety of
lifejackets for children through adults. There are usually 2 adult
bikes plus 3 childrens' bikes and maybe a stroller. No Pets please.
We usually have a badmitton net up with plenty of racquets and
birdies. Also available, is a croquet set and horseshoe pit. There
are plenty of extra outdoor chairs for sitting by the fire or beach
and a couple of lounge chairs for the sun goddesses. We also have a
vcr/dvd player, and a spare TV (dvd player) along with some movies.
We have toys in the house, a few puzzels, and a bunch board games.

The apartment is attached, but separated by a solid 6 panel solid
oak lockable door.It is also newly remodeled with lots of ceramic, a
new kitchen(ette), and has its own two private entrances, with
washer and dryer are available. This super convienent location is
often less expensive than a local (Traverse City hotel) and more
confortable and convienent for a family to vacation.
Summer 2009 rates are for June-August 31.
Reduced rates are as follows:
$3000 for the main house and
$000 for the Owner's studio apartment (email if interested in
reserving)
*some holidays, if available, are slightly more.
A cleaning deposit of $75, and tax of 6% will be charged.
Linens and/or towels are included.
Off season rates:
$1400 /week, plus tax and cleaning fee.
50% due to hold your date, balance due 60 days prior to your visit.
