Some people have the gift of hospitality and when they operate in their gift it really shows. These folks, Teddi and Chris have it. You will feel delightfully welcome and accommodated. I was in serious need of a getaway retreat and this place was a perfect fit for me. If you would like a quaint, romantic, quiet, private get away place within easy walking distance to the Doheny Beach and the Dana Point marina this is an excellent choice. Even the surrounding neighbors were very quiet. No barking dogs, screaming children or chaos anywhere around. It is 2 minutes from I-5 and easy access and just off the Pacific Coast Highway. I believe the arrangement best suits a couple, four people max. More people than that would be difficult.
As you can see from the photos, it is beautifully decorated, clean and well maintained. If I were going to have a criticism it would be that there is no big comfy couch or easy chair to watch the beautiful 50" plasma tv from. It was really no problem since I am not a big tv watcher anyway. Ah, yes, and if you are going to grill steaks and cook in the kitchen please bring your own sharp knives. The kitchen is pretty well equipped with everything else including spices and condiments in the fridge. It very quickly feels like home away from home. You will enjoy your stay :)

Perfect Getaway

What a great place to stay for the two of us! All aspects exceeded our expectations, but particularly the commitment of Teddi and Chris to ensure that we had everything we needed. It is private, quiet, safe, well-furnished, and fun. It has a long private shaded deck that is perfect for relaxation and dinner after a long day at the beach and sightseeing. There was plenty of room for our bikes as we enjoy training in the Dana Point area. The location, quality, value, and customer service was outstanding. After several years of visiting the Dana Point area we finally have a place that is our perfect getaway.

Not a 1 Bdrom Beach House-it's a studio w/closet!

Though we booked this beach house in January for July, it was very unfortunate for us because we thought we were renting a 1 bedroom beach house and instead it was a studio with a closet. When we walked in the place we were shocked to see the bed is in the middle of the living room. The Jacuzzi was in this room as well – which lends itself to virtually no privacy. The kitchen was also a part of this small room. Though there were some appliances and dishes – there was no place to put our groceries - except in the small fridge. There were also no dressers in this studio beach house. We were living out of our suitcases because we had no place to put our stuff. We were told that this place sleeps 4! As it turned out my husband and I slept on the bed in the living room, which really was a box spring with a 2 inch foam mattress on it (not a memory foam mattress, either) - while the 2 teenagers were left to sleep in the walk in closet on blow up mattresses. This was very uncomfortable, to say the least. There is no kitchen table in this place (only an outside table and chairs). The furniture is all wicker - extremely uncomfortable. No air conditioning either. After 3 nights of uncomfortable sleeping for all of us, I approached the owners letting them know our dilemma. We had booked for one week, given our deposit in January and a cashier’s check when we arrived. I was willing to let them have the deposit and just give us back what we paid in the cashier’s check and call it even. In the words of the owner "That's not gonna happen". I told her that she had misrepresented the place. She didn't care. She gave us our deposit back plus a very minimal amount. These owners were unscrupulous in their dealings with us. We had to find a hotel to stay in so we could at least be comfortable. We were virtually out of the entire amount we spent for this beach house (minus a very small amount). I would not recommend dealing with these people because of our experience. In spite of this – we really enjoyed Dana Point and all of our dealings with others in this area were fantastic. We have never had an experience like this before and we have been vacationing for many years. We will come back to Dana Point – but not to this place!
