Located just six miles west of Franklin, this house in the southern Appalachaian mountains is a great getaway for a weekend, a week or even a season. This is not a house that was purchased to rent....It was our family home for over 20 years. It has recently been remodeled with fresh paint, hard-wood floors in the living area and new carpet in the bedrooms.  The view from the front deck is absolutely fabulous and creates a sense of openess that really sets this house apart from many mountain rentals.
The house is completely furnished, including tableware, bed linens, towels, etc. . The living room is furnished in navy blue leather. Sleeping accommodations for
up to 6 people are available.  If you are looking for a relaxing getaway in the mountains in a clean and comfortable home with room for the entire family, this is the place.  We do not solicit comments for this site from our guests but we often receive notes or cards at check out and have recently added a few of those comments to this site.  Many of our guests have inquired about renting again. We  take pride not only in the house but in making our guests feel welcome and at home.

There are many outdoor activities in this area. The beautiful Nantahala National Forest is just a couple of miles away. Within its borders are many opportunities for the outdoor enthusiast. Hiking, camping, rock climbing, mountain biking, white water rafting, and fall leaf-looking are all popular activities in the area. The Appalachian Trail, which follows the peaks of the Appalachian Mountains from Georgia to Maine, is only about 7 minutes away.
The paved driveway, covered parking area and location make this a wonderful destination for motorcyclists also. For the less adventuresome, the house itself is a wonderful place to simply get away and relax. It's not uncommon to see deer feeding beneath the apple trees a few yards below the deck, especially in late summer. Bring family or bring friends. We look forward to meeting you.
